Agree 100%, but this whole NFL sucks. The Packers and Colts struggle every week. Right now the 3 best teams look like Steelers, Ravens, and Jets. The NFC is a pile of suck.

Falcons & Saints are the cream of the class in the NFC.

The Saints are the same team that almost lost at home vs Carolina. They did lose vs the Falcons and played a very shitty 49ers team to a very close game also. I would hardly say they are the class of the NFC.

Sorry Zack

I think the Saints are the best team in the NFC. All good teams win a couple of squeakers against lousy teams.
But if they lose to the Cards then I'll rethink my position!

Possibly but

I think what you said is true about the AFC. The Jets Raven and Steelers are all so much better than any team in the NFC so far.

Aaron Rogers suffered a concussion in the Pack game as well, so it looks like they will be struggling with the same problem as the Bears. I don't and never have believed Flynn is any good, even in college.

Time to rethink the top of the NFC.

Wow. The Saints lose to the Cards! Ok...Atlanta is the best team in the NFC.

Atlanta may be the best NFC team right now, but it's really more akin to which turd is floating on top at the moment.

Just look at the standings, read each team, and tell me you don't say either "m'eh" or "blech" to each and every one of them.

There's league parity, then there's this spastic orgy of inexplicable mediocrity.

... but the Bears are 4-1 .... yea!!!!!!!!!!

Funny how things go in this NFL. It was gloom and doom before the season. Now, at 4-1, it would be a major disapointment if the Bears didn't make the playoffs.

Christ, if the season ended today, the Bears would be the # 1 seed in the NFC playoffs. Tampa is 4-1 too and Atlanta is 3-1. They join the Bears as the only teams in the NFC with one loss.

Side note: This is the first time since 1970 that the NFL doesn't have a 4-0 team.

Check that. The Bears would be the 2 seed in the NFC if the season ended today cuz Atlanta is 3-0 in the conference while the Bears are 4-1. They get the tie breaker.

But still, think about that, Bears are 4-1 in conference (Haven't played an AFC team yet, obviously). That's a great start for wild card tiebreakers.

Bears aren't a great team. We all know that. But the NFC is down this year.

Adding together both starting QB's passer ratings gives me 35.2.
I wonder if this is a record... combined starting QB rating of 35.
It must be the worst QB'd game in years and years.

But BOTH starters were below "heartbeat" rating. That's the worst combined rating I think is even possible.

Other than a game with just horrendous weather, thats gotta be some sort of record.

Todd Collins should be cut today. He's of absolutely no use whatsoever.

Against a horrid defense, he almost completed as many passes to Carolina as he did to his own team. And not fluky picks either, just awful, awful throws.

I haven't watched the whole game yet...Was Forte/run as good as the numbers or is Carolina that bad?

A little of both. The passing game was so bad that the Panthers were able to stuff Forte a lot, but in the 4th qtr (as the defense was worn down, imagine that concept Mr Martz!), he broke a few decent runs and was able to eat up clock.

If Cutler was 100% and started this game, the Bears likely would have put up at least 40 points.

Jerry Angelo should be fired first. How this guy stays employed is beyond me. Archuletta, Pace, Collins, Manumaleuna...its one washed up failure after another.
Who in their right mind could think that the washed up career backup rag armed Todd Collins would be a good backup QB for the Bears? Experience means nothing if your bad. Caleb Hanie is clearly a better QB.
Why would the Bears hand Collins $1 million? It makes no sense.

It's hard to believe this guy was supposed to be the "Hair Apparent" to Jim Kelly back in '95.

Archuletta was a Lovie decision. Manumaleuna and Collins are Martz's guys. Not sure who wanted Pace.

Check the Bears-49ers wind game.

I think the SF QB completed one pass

EDIT: Couldnt find the actual passer ratings for that game but here are the qb stats

C. Pickett 1/13 28 2.2 0 1

C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT
K. Orton 8/13 67 5.2 0 1
B. Maynard 0/1 0 0.0 0 0
