A little Loleata Holloway mixed in with a bit of TSOP.

Don't worry, I don't expect any of you to get that one. ;)

In a way, it's sort of like advertising. You know her without knowing her. Everyone has undoubtedly heard her via a sample at some time. Just like someone might not know the "Amen break" or "The Liquidator", but everyone's heard them a hell of a lot.

This just dropped yesterday so I picked it up of course. Got done running through it for the
first time this morning and it was pretty good. 2.5 hours of music as well as 15 tracks never
before relased of the 47 on the disc. The rest are a lot of early classics all done a little
differently than you may have heard before in classic Dylan style. Found it especially
interesting that all the music was recorded while Dylan was 24 or earlier. All but one of
the songs were written by him. All acoustic and quite a bit of harp as well. You'd have to
be in a folky kind of mood to enjoy these but it is all good stuff, including a few tracks in
which he screws up with coughs or forgets lyrics which leads to some good dialogue with
the engineer. They keep bringing the good stuff with this Bootleg Series material for those
of us that are Dylan fans. Worth the $13.95 I paid for it at Best Buy.

Oh, yeah - Hot Chip opens.

Can....not.....wait.

It felt like a show in the middle of July. It was the sweatiest/steamiest I think I've ever seen the Aragon. Too damn hot, actually. I know it was warm outside, and the place was packed, but I'm not sure why it was so hot and humid.

My ears are ringing right now.

Hot Chip is a funny band to see live - 5 seemingly unattractive, middle-aged Brits that seem to be overly awkward and devoid of any style, but they play good live music.

James/LCD was as good as ever.
