Pathetic--CSN interrupts the last 35 minutes of the Arsenal-Shakhtar Champions League match for Mike Quade press conference.

I acknowledge that more people probably care about the Cubs than the Champions League, but there is no reason to simply play the press conference 35 minutes later once the game is over.

They did the same thing in March when they broke into a Champions League game to cover the damn press conference for the DePaul coach hire press conference!

All I'm saying is if you are going to cover a sport, commit to it.

Are you sure the Champions League soccer match was live? If it wasn't, it's no big deal. If it was live, it's no big deal either...

Local sports coverage on CSN (local sports channel) > far more important to that station than Champions League Soccer on said channel.

Do you have any high quality jerseys for us?

But, they must be cheap.

I have low quality jerseys for a high price in my closet.

Exhibits A-E:

A- Jon Kitna Seahawks jersey
B- Rodney Peete Eagles jersey
C- Brett Favre Packers jersey without the correct striping
D- Brian Westbrook Eagles jersey (my best, but outdated)
E- Donovan McNabb Eagles jersey that is like XXXL (lineman size). It was a gift from Slappy so I wear it only around the house.

I used to have a Ron Jaworski #7 Eagles' jersey growing up...
SHARK as Jaworski: In my thorough examination, the jersey I used to have doesn't fit me anymore!

I thought that Jaws actually was a SHARK, like you. :P :eye: to me.

SHARK, I think we should bring our kid Eagles jerseys to the next bowling event and drape them over our shoulders. 8)

It's live. Shakhtar is one of my favorite team names too. It's owned by a Ukranian billionare/ mafia member so Comcast better watch it's back. They did them a favor though since Shakhtar got trashed 5-1

Comcast is part owned by the Cubs. Even as a soccer fan you gotta know they'd show the presser.

The fact that it was the Champions League that got interrupted is beside the point.

The threshold for breaking into live sports should be really high.

The Quade hire was reported earlier in the day, so it wasn't like we were expecting an event of high drama. Nothing portentous was going to be revealed at the Cubs conference. It is not even like the Cubs hired a "new" manager like Ryno or Girardi, where you might have a better argument that the presser should be shown live.

They streamed the press conference on their website, so--as someone said above--they could have run a notice on the bottom of the screen. OR they could have streamed the Arsenal/Shakhtar on the web--a poorer choice, but at least we could have seen the rest of the game.

You should send a letter to Comcast. They probably didn't realize anyone was actually watching it.

It is kind of easy to confuse the Arsenal-Shakhtar Champions League for an infomercial....could happen.

The real point being- it was fucking soccer ,the World Cup is over and no one cares about the stupid game.

The fact that Chint is apparently serious about this makes this thread even more hilarious....where are the other soccer saps KissRules, Zack, and ZizMaou?

As a soccer sap, like I said since CSN is partly owned by the Cubs they played their creative control card. ESPN sorta did the same thing once with a Champions League game. That was when I woke up on 9/11 around 11AM and wasted a few hours playing NCAA football on my PS2 until the soccer game was supposed to be on and instead stupid Ted Koppel was there. Hiring Quade is almost exactly like 9/11.
