While you all make good points and kind of made Larry a little more sympathetic to me, I think the thing that bugs me is when he joins in with Bernstein with the "I'm better than you" attitude. You know what I'm talking about. The constant war against the lowley callers (Which Bernstein has really made the theme of everybody at the SCORE).

How can he join Bernstein with the "I hate meatball" stuff when he's the one saying he wants to fight everybody? When he's the one that uses race issues as a crutch? He's a combo of Bernstein's enemies, Dusty Baker and Mike Ditka, when he's not sitting next to Bernstein. When he's with Bernstein it's "Yeah, I hate those people too."

Eventually you just can't say Larry needs to figure stuff out. As a listener, you just want to hear sports talk and not somebody trying to figure stuff out. That's why Mitch needs to put an end to it for Larry's sake.

That tie was taken straight from the Frank Costanza Regular Guy collection.

But I don't think anyone cares so much about that stuff, Beardown. It's just a radio show. Either you find him entertaining or you don't. I think you are putting way too much thought into disecting these radio guy's quirks and motivations. Laurence is harmless, so is Dan Bernstein. They are trying to entertain people. They aren't running for public office. You seem very wrapped up in the things that they say...

Not me. I love the random musings and life lessons of Laurence Holmes.

Hasn't he already "come out" on the radio?

He is always talking about being a catcher!!!

I'm not sayin...I'm just sayin... :)

Don't single me out. Other people in this thread were dissecting Larry before I jumped in. Sports radio people dissect every bullshit thing about sports figures. It's the same thing here. This is just a message board. That doesn't stop people from saying stuff about me for the stuff I say. Yourself included. So you can't have it both ways.

I'm neither black nor Jewish, but this book helped me a lot in my formative years. Maybe it will help Larry. See everybody, I try to help.

Beardown, your even losing me now.

Youre better than this. Youre letting these weirdos affect you. You are not a reactionery poster. You are an originator of ideas.

Post like it.

In my google search for books about being black I found a bunch of odd ones. I'm posting these for no reason what so ever.

He's a joke and always has been. Although, I've come to appreciate the unintentional humor he provides.

Yeah, and I'll be the first to tell you that B&b is my favorite show primarily because I find bernstein so vile. It's OKC's favorite show for different reasons. It's like li'l danny always talks about Dave Baum telling him- if half the listeners hate you and half love you, you're doing all right. There it is right there.

LoHo's take on Halloween -

"I'm a 'Naughty Nurse"...that's not a costume!! THAT'S YOUR WHORE OUTFIT!!" Here's what I want - just say, "I'm a slut!"

Really? Hate to say this, but that's a Bernstein observation. He's said, on a number of occasions, that Halloween is just an excuse for women to dress as sluts. Another rip off of Bernstein.

I thought it was pretty funny.

But, then, I tend to dress as a mimbo, or is it a mut.

Would this, then, mean that slutty women dress as librarians and the like on Halloween?

And if they hate you so much they turn it off??

I often turn off the radio when Laurence is on his show. I don't hate him, but I think his show is terrible and his thoughts aren't interesting, original or funny, so I PFTB when he starts into something that is really bad which is usually within 15 mins. Did this with North as well, not a good trend,.

Carmen is a bigger nerd than Larry. Its the exact opposite. Its the one day non SLUTS can slut it up with no recourse.

Most heteros are cool with it.

Its odd Larry would say that considering he sees his show as a way to get laid.

I think what he means is you want listeners to hate you enough to listen. That's where I am with bernstein. And where I was with North. If listeners don't give a shit, you've got a problem.

I don't find much reason to listen with Hood being on at 7.

Just now, on B&B, Larry displayed another example of why he bugs everybody. They were talking about who's in the booth telling Lovie what should be reviewed and Larry says, with an authoritative, insider, voice, "I think it needs to be made clear that Mike Martz isn't in the booth telling Lovie what should be reviewed, he's on the sideline."

Larry, everybody watching the games knows that Martz is on the sideline. There's like 5 or 6 shots of him a game. We all know that. You didn't need to tell us that in that slow "I know something you don't know" voice.

This is a common trait with Larry. Saying simple and obvious things like he's the only one that knows them. Not just on sports, but on everything. Larry lives in a strange world where he thinks saying the sky is blue is a great observation on his part.

Hood & Fred are great together. I'll listen to them over LoHo every time.
