You could say the exact same thing about Todd Collins. LeFevour is actually a better QB right now that Todd fucking Collins. Why the hell did Jerry & Lovie think that Todd Collins was anything but a washed up rag armed QB???

They must have read David Haugh's column about how important it was to sign a veteran backup.

Then, after that, they should have read the standard Don Pierson 37 year-old quarterback column.

The Connie Francis mention above reminds me of one of my favorite Mike North on air moments. This had to have been at least 7-8 years ago...I'm pretty sure I was still in high school at the time, but hell, it might have even been grade school.

Anyway, they had just finished a remote in Cleveland, probably for a Sox/Indians series. North is talking about how he went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He said it was OK, but he was disappointed there was no room or exhibit with plaques for all the inductees, like in the MLB hall of fame.

Anyway, I guess to prove some kind of point, he went up to a "young girl" who worked at the Hall of Fame and asked where the Connie Francis exhibit was. North said that she replied she "wasn't sure," at which point North said "that's because she's not in the Hall of Fame," to which the girl responded "oh, she's not?" And North in a super-serious, indignant voice goes "no.......she's not" and then walked away.

First off, there is less than a 1% chance that this girl has ever heard of Connie Francis before. Second, she was pretty much just trying to humor him when he asked the question. Then, he takes out his disgust with the Hall of Fame's selection decisions on the person at perhaps the very lowest rung of the food chain at the Hall. Of course, North thought that the moral of the story was that even this girl was amazed that the great Connie Francis was somehow not in the Hall of Fame.

Wait just a cotton pickin' minute, you're telling me that Connie Francis is not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Here are a few of his thoughts. If they seem like they are rambling, it is because they are.

Roger Goddell should be fired because he is bowing to the PC movement in America by looking into preventing concussions. He wants to bring back Pete Rozelle as commish. He died in 1996. John Madden is partially to blame for the devastating hits in the NFL, because his video games glorify these hits. He has never seen any of Madden's games however, but he can name all of the video games....Pong...Asteroids. Now, defensive players will just tackle low, which will result in more blown out knees, in lieu of concussions. Ask Gale Sayers if he would want to be hit high or low. He watched all of Sayers' games, and the youngsters should look up Sayers on youtube or google for forty minutes to see what he was all about.

5* play of the week

Philadelphia -3

Philly is getting 3. His POTW, and he doesn't even know the spread. He claims he went undefeated last weekend, just check his site. Now Chuck Esposito is on, so these two can lick each other's balls.

15* Buffalo plus the points. He says they are getting something like 13 or 14. He is giving himself some wiggle room, also known as Touting 101. Esposito said it's 13, so that's what we will roll with. It's his pick of the week, even though he just gave out Philly -3 as his play of the week.

Arizona +6

Esposito stays for another segment. Nort makes another pick. He picks Buffalo +13. He just picked them fifteen minutes ago. Now, it is a 5* Bulgarian Special, so I am just as confused as anyone reading this. John Fox is a heck of a coach.

His Play of the Week is undefeated five weeks in a row, even though last week his POTW was UNLV +3.5, and they lost 43-10.

His reasoning behind the Bills pick is because Jim Fassel said the best UFL team could beat the Bills. The Bills are sick of hearing it, and something about political correctness taking over in this country, so he takes the Bills. I am getting dizzy trying to put his rants into writing.

He also likes Wisconsin +6. Now, something about Mike Quade living near Pappy, five minutes from the Kennedy at Cumberland. Josh Hamilton was thanking God last night, and God is good because he will hang with you, but God wasn't there when he went to that strip club.

Coach K is coming up.

Maybe he bought North's lot. It's five minutes from everything.

These are the picks from his website:

10/18 results
NFL L - Jax +3 ov Tenn 200 beans
+7070
10/23 & 10/24 Pick
College Arizona +3 vs. California 100 Beans - Take Arizona
Auburn -6 vs. LSU 200 Beans - Take Auburn
NFL St. Louis +3 vs. Tampa Bay - 100 Beans - Take St. Louis
New Orleans -13 vs. Cleveland - 100 Beans - Take New Orleans

He said that he was undefeated last week, but right on the website it says he lost the Monday night game. Of course, that was another vig free loss.

Chus - I've been tracking his picks for a couple weeks in that other thread about his website.

The best part about the Arizona pick is that Arizona is playing Washington, not California.

He and his producer are arguing about who was better, Nolan Ryan or Steve Carlton. Steve Kerr at the top of the hour. Every interview has a Chicago angle. This can't play well nationally.
