No he hasnt. DE is not a position that shows up in the stat sheet outside of sacks. He was AMAZING in the GB game but it didnt show in the stats

He's been better than expected. Thats been the general assessment of football experts.

Didn't Aikman mention something yesterday how Peppers seemed somewhat disinterested in the past few games that weren't in "prime time" or against a team he can be motivated against(Carolina)?

That was one of the knocks on him. On the big stage, he's amazing to watch. On a noon kickoff against Washington or Seattle he's not quite the same palyer.

Ive heard that described as lazy and a non informed opinion.

Thats "the rap" so yeah, its going to come up. I dont agree with it.
I think he goes games without sacks and people think he's not showing up, when in reality he is changing the game other ways (18 false starts...tipped passes...not running at his side.)

Umm, how did he "change" the Seattle game? By being dominated in a one-on-one matchup vs. a rookie? That's change I can believe in!

I do think the resources that went to peppers should have been put into the offense. And that they'd be better off now if they had done that.

Outside of Chris Williams, they haven't drafted any Olinemen. They are now paying for that dearly.

The thing is that these type of reputations are normally at least somewhat truth based. It may be overblown but they don't just get invented out of nowhere.

Tall Midget pointed it out but he hasn't even been double covered in some games. I guess we'll have to see what happens against Buffalo and the Vikings. My guess is even though he should dominate more against the Bills he'll be better against the Vikings.

We can blame the Bears' offensive line all we want for allowing another 4 sacks of Jason Cutler yesterday, but guess what? Jason wears the goat horns for me! 5 turnovers, including 4 interceptions all to DeAngelo Hall, and a fumble at the goal line! I thought Jason was supposed to be this team's franchise QB, not Rex Grossman! :x :x Guess what? Cutler was so bad yesterday, I wish I could call him something as girly as what sports radio "shock jock" Jim Rome kept referring to former Rams' QB Jim Everett on his former ESPN2 show many years ago! :x :x Until Jason Cutler resembles the franchise QB the Bears thought they were getting from Denver, that's what he will be known as! SHARK's THAT MAD!!! :x :x :x

Wow, this game was just bad. The Skins did everything in their power to lose this game and the Bears just wouldnt let that happen. Cutler needed to tell Knox that a double move might have come in handy in the second half when Hall was looking like the best DB in the history of the NFL.

Edit- only 1 link. CSB sportsline, nfl.com, and Wikipedia all have just "jay"

Phil, you may be onto something. I wonder if Cutler's still feeling the effects of his concussion 3 weeks after sustaining one in the Giants' debacle. He doesn't look right, and I'm sorry I'm so hard on the guy if that's the case...

I'm sorry, folks. I'm really upset about the Bears losing back-to-back games to 2 teams that aren't much better than they are. The Redskins statistically suck, even with Donovan McNabb quarterbacking that team. The Seahawks aren't much better than the Bears, and they may be the worst of the NFC's division leaders in the NFC West. The Bears shouldn't be losing winnable games like these, and if they lose in 2 weeks to the winless Bills in Toronto, this season is shot!

You gotta watch the game Brian. Peppers is a huge disappointment thus far.

I predicted the Bears would finish 6-10 this season. Looking at the Bears remaining 9 games, I see 1 more win for the Bears, thus finishing at 5-11.

11 Thu, Nov. 18 at Miami Dolphins LOSS
12 Sun, Nov. 28 vs. Philadelphia Eagles LOSS
13 Sun, Dec. 5 at Detroit Lions WIN
14 Sun, Dec. 12 vs. New England Patriots LOSS
15 Mon, Dec. 20 at Minnesota Vikings LOSS
16 Sun, Dec. 26 vs. New York Jets LOSS
17 Sun, Jan. 2 at Green Bay Packers LOSS

Scorehead, if the Bears don't beat the Bills after their bye week in Toronto, this season is shot in my opinion. Looking at the remaining schedule, they may get 2 more wins. They'll rematch the Lions on my birthday, but I'm not so sure that's a sure win anymore & Matthew Stafford may be quarterbacking Detroit again on their home field. The way the NFC is structured this season, what should be wins are now losses, and the other way around. It's enough to give you a headache!

There are some who feel Julius Peppers should have more than just the 2 sacks he currently has since he signed that huge contract in the offseason.

SHARK, please.

There about a dozen bigger problems on this team than the number of sacks that Julius Peppers has.

I suspect Peppers might be injured. He was hobbling early in the Seattle game on the play where Urlacher was dragged into the end zone.

That said, he had a tremendous start to the season and, once they inserted Idonije, I.I. has had a couple monster games (18 tackles and 4 sacks in the last 3 games) from the attention that Peppers draws not to mention freeing up blockers from Urlacher and Briggs.

The four-time all-pro player has been credited with 13 tackles, two sacks and two forced fumbles. He also has an interception.

Game planning against Peppers always presents challenges, Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan said.

"You think you got him blocked because you think you got a pocket far enough away from the quarterback, but he sticks out his six-foot-long arms and he can actually reach the guy," Shanahan said the other day at Redskins Park. "You get surprised.

"There are clips on tape versus the [New York] Giants where Eli [Manning] looks like he has a pocket, Peppers is about five yards away from him, and he reaches over and strips the ball. The quarterback has got to keep stepping up. The tackles just can't finish. They have to keep pushing him up the field."

Tommie Harris is happy that Peppers is now a Bear because Tommie is no longer the most overpaid player on the team.

If Tommie had any ability left, he would be making more plays because Peppers is in there.

What does Peppers need to do, have 2 or 3 sacks, and an INT Every game? He was not good against Seattle. He was ok yesterday. He was an absolute beast before then. If he is banged up at all, he has 2 weeks to rest up. What the fuck more do you want out of him? And don't say he isn't worth the money because every star in the NFL is overpaid.

You tell me Kirko, what makes Peppers a "huge dissapointment thus far?" Answer that. Address BrYan's and Dr Ken's posts as well. And don't say sacks. You have already made it clear that you (wrongly) believe that he doesn't have enough. Give us some other concrete examples of why he is dissapointing in your mind.
