The Chris Chelios-looking Mike Esposito sounded as if he had a frog in his throat to a point where I was wondering if The SCORE was going to air Sporting News Radio Saturday afternoon before the NIU/Central Michigan football game. Espo didn't sound good at all!

I've listened to him a few times and think he's ok certainly not ready for a prime time gig. He's got a bit of a monotone with no edge - plus he's normally just talking to himself. No callers, a few texts.

Vince, although Mike Esposito has done a few actual talk shows, either by himself as has been the case on Saturday afternoons & early Sunday mornings or working with a partner such as "Stuttering" Dan Hampton or Matt Rodewald, I don't think that's his meat and potatoes. Espo is meant to do "Scoreboard Updates", and that's what he does on the weekends as well as Thursday nights following "Chicago Bears' All Access" since the end of the White Sox season on The SCORE. He didn't sound too good this past Saturday, and by playing interviews with WBBM 780's Tom Thayer on last Friday's "Mully & Hanley" & Hub Arkush from Friday's "Danny Mac Show", it rested a voice that sounded very hoarse.

I caught part of the funeral that was White Sox Weekly - and it was as bad as ANYTHING I have ever heard. The guy was LITERALLY counting down the seconds until Cowley was coming on to talk Sox (at which point I PTFB, as Joe is the biggest twat in the city - since Mariotti left). The guy is usually a flatliner, his cold made it unlistenable on Saturday....it was really bad. He sounded so disinterested, sad and angry. It honestly sounded like something you'd hear in Ottumwa, Iowa....on a high school radio station.

Truly embarassing that they left the anti-Energizer Bunny of sports radio power through a shift like that - I'd be pissed if I were the Sox and heard that trainwreck as "my" show.
