If Uribe has a great World Series does he get a Statue? or at least a day to honor him?

Isn't Uribe part of the World Series statue?

Yes he is

Since he's on the Giants w/ Aaron Rowand, maybe they'll get a statue of them 69ing each other.

So, with your logic nobody on the World Series Statue gets their own statue? Paulie? Buerhle?

No, the Sox only honor players with statues when their team chokes away an 8 game lead in September.

As a Sox fan, I think there are already too many statues. That said, if Paulie were to stick around and do what he's done the last few years, I could see the #14 getting retired and maybe a statue.

Shit, we've got nearly as many numbers retired as the Yankees. Baines? Pierce? Aparicio? Fox? Ted Lyons? These guys were all nice players. Lyons, Fox, and Aparicio are Hall of Famers, but they're borderline guys at best.

I'd be fine with just Appling, Minnie, and Frank. Appling was a great hitter for a long, long time. He played on a lot of terrible teams, but shortstops generally didn't hit like that in his time. And he was with the Sox forever. He's like the White Sox version of Ernie Banks. Minoso was the first black guy in town. He's a vastly underrated player. He probably should be in the Hall anyway, but he'd definitely be there if he hadn't lost prime years at the beginning of his career due to his skin color. I know ASFB disagrees, but he was a better player than Billy Williams. And Frank is simply the greatest player in franchise history.

There's not a skilled craftsmen or statue maker that can properly recreate Uribe's bulbous behind.

I never thought I'd mention this and Juan Uribe in the same breath, but if he continues to get clutch hits in this World Series, he may very well merit consideration for MVP honors...Seriously.

Maybe they could put the statue in the outfield bar and use his ass as an extra table.

wel it was gonna be either him or Renteria...both similar players

it was Renteria, but happy that Juan got another ring...he might be the next Renteria...a journeyman good character shortstop who can hit and end up on multiple world series teams

the juan uribe statue should be of his swing followthrough when he swings from the heels at a slider down in the dirt. you won't see him appearing on an episode of "cheaters" anytime soon.

He was a key member of the most important baseball team in Chicago sports history.

Where are you going to put the Geoff Blum statue?

It's already there. You just haven't seen it because we only wheel it out in the fourteenth inning.

Do you think El Duque should get a statue?

Why shouldn't we celebrate the greatest team in Chicago baseball history?

I've always regretted that the Sox didn't activate him and insert him in a Cub game so his last plate appearance could have been a walk issued by Carlos Marmol. They could have stopped the game and had his kids run out on the field.

Him and Ted Kluszewski are the only Chicago players to hit more than one HR in the same World Series.

Biggie,

Call me when the Cubs do the Len Kasper statue.

You know, when he is eighty fucking years old and the Cubs still haven't won a World Series since 1908.

Bases loaded, no outs in Boston. Retired the side. That's a top five sports moment for me.

It sure was. I think bigfan would agree that it would be nice if he got a statue to recognize that accomplishment. Podsednik too.
