Sandberg is leaving the Cubs organization. Great. At least we have Mike fucking Quade & Pat Listach.

Ricketts is letting Hendrey call the shots. Unbelievable. Rickett's is another Peter principle guy who is in over his head. Stick to running your Daddy's company you stupid fuck.

Scorehead,
I think Quade will be a better manager not only than Sandberg but most other guys in the league. He got his once-in-a-lifetime chance and will ride it into glory. Either that or he is toast by April.

What does Quade know about baseball that Ryno doesnt? There is a reason that Quade is a life long minor league manager & major league assistant coach.

These are not the actions of a GM that believes he is in any type of trouble, and the mownership is clearly letting him run with whatever he wants to do, so get ready for plenty more Hendry as the years go on and on...

He might know not to get tossed from a game that you need to win to get into the playoffs.

As long as Jody Davis is still in the organization life is good. Maybe this will create a job opening for Rick Wilkins.

Well Ryno felt he deserved the manager position and imo he didn't. He put in work in the minors and I guess he feels that it was enough. Sorry but its not. Maybe he needs to put in some time as a bench coach in the majors and stop crying. It woulda been nice for the Cub to call him up after Lou left to see what he could do but it didn't happen. Hendry is a baffoon but Quade did a nice job and earned the position.

He better get in line because Damon Berryhill deserves it more!

good...Im glad someone stuck it to Hendry...

as big a bafoon as as Hendry has been, this is really his first and biggest PR problem...everything up until now has had to be unvocered and exposed by me because of his backroom tactics

so of course, he is saying all the right things about Ryno, as he should

Both Quade and Hendry will be out the door at the end of the 2011 season if not sooner. It amazes me that people somehow feel the the end of the year record means anything. For Ricketts to acknowledge this speaks to his naivete.

Tom Ricketts just let Jim Hendry push the greatest Cub in the last 35 years out of the Cubs organization...& Hendry is still a Cub. This fucking clown has made more bad decisions than any GM in baseball & Ricketts lets him do this.
I wish Ryno would unload on the Cubs, but he is too classy to do that.

Sandberg didn't get the big leauge job, and left on his own accord. It was my understand that he would have been able to return to Des Moines and manage. He chose not to. Thats Hendry's fault?

Scorehead is acting like Hendry sat on his Ryne Sandberg bobblehead doll.

Hendry did Sandberg a FAVOR!!!!!!

Other former cubs catchers to consider (not)...

Scott Servias (sp?), Randy Hundley, Todd Hundley, Steve Swisher, Jason Kendall, Kieth Moreland (caught some), Someone named Joe Girardi, Tim Blackwell, Dave Radar, Larry Cox, Steve Lake, Rick Wrona, Tyler Houston, Henry Blanco, .....

OK...back to the topic now. Ryno gone? Meh....doesn't bother me that much and he was my all time favorite cub. Not sure I need him managing this team. Focus needs to be on the team & the disaster that is Jim Hendry. Ryno's presence would gloss that over too much IMO.

Look at Frank being the voice of reason in a Cubs thread.

Just because Ryne is one of the greatest players in Cubs history doesn't mean he's entitled to a managerial job. He was offered the AAA job back, which he declined, because he is convinced he'll get a managerial gig.

Sandberg made the decision to abandon the glorious Chicago Cubs.

correct

without Hendry Tom wouldnt know what to do

Look at Ricketts in every press conference...he has a deer in headlights look and all he does is succinctly parrot whatever Hendry says

Ricketts is not in the business of evaluating Hendry right now...he is just glad to have him there because he knows everything about the organization...he views him as a lifesaver, not an employee...what a mess

What I don't know is how good of a manager he would have been. What I do know is that Hendry , even though it is supposed to be his job, had no business being the one to determine or project this. I hope there were some other people involved in this decision making process. Sandberg's popularity will the fan base and how that popularity would almost give him a pass and turn up the heat even more than it is now on Hendry better not have played a role in this. There is no reason he shouldn't have been offered a spot on the big league coaching staff. Maybe he was, but we don't know that right now.

Actually......I need to just stop giving a shit about anything they do until Hendry is removed from this situation.

If Ryno really wants to be an MLB Manager (not just the Cubs manager), he would have went back to Iowa for at least 1 more year. Its a job and its more experience. I think this shows that he only wanted the Cubs job, maybe because he presumed because of being such a legend he could somewhat coast thru it. This sort of says a lot about what kind of manager Ryno might be.

Given where the Cubs are at, I think Quade is absolutely the best choice to run the show.

Don't be so sure. I predict that the Ryno mouthpiece Seazner will have a column in the near future with a few quotes that won't be kind to the organization.

I hope your right. Fucking Hendry does business like a Chicago Politician & Ricketts is too dumb to see this.
Did I just hear that Hendry has asked the Cubs Scouting director to also take on the Managerial duties at AAA Iowa? The Cubs organization is as poisoned & dysfunctional as the Bears. What did Chicago sports fans do to deserve passive pussy ownership like the Cubs & Bears have?
