I wish you luck with finding Conan on TNT. Everyone else who watches him will just go to TBS. Very Funny.

think about it. he got paid 32 million extra and had to wait six months before signing another big contract on a cable network. i mean sure he'll make jokes and get his barbs in but OUT FOR BLOOD?! this ain't a bronson movie, dude. NBC screwed him, but he got 32 million dollars for leaving early. comeon.

The guy has been paid already! Wasnt his deal ay $5 mill for 5 years? So Getting paid $32 mill today is good, as he can make more money now, but either way the guy was gonna cash in, so I don't think the $32 mill is gonna cool him off.

Looks like it is the same as the Tonight Show, which was the same as Late Night, which is just fine with me.

He seems much looser than the Tonight Show

He doesn't have to appeal to the blue hairs that love Leno.

If anything, he's bringing more viewers to TBS.

JORR is just upset because he realizes that most of Leno's ratings are old people who fall asleep with the TV on.

i only found the intro mildly amusing but both my roommates were howling with laughter through the damn show in their respective rooms. i had to turn my fan on to drown out the noise.

It was only ok. Tom Hanks is on tonight and he is usually a good guest.
I did enjoy the Masturbating Bear Lotto sketch. I also like the fact that
he can interact with the crowd during the monologue which could lead to
some hilarity.

i have a feeling they (my roommates) were laughing from more excitement than actual amused laughter. they're both fanboys who couldn't wait for conan to come back on the air.

i like conan; but the way fans have been acting this summer, it reminds me of when SW fanboys were gushing that lucas was doing more star wars movies (the prequels).

I never thought he was that funny, but would like to see him make fun of Leno daily.

I haven't been counting down the days but I was looking forward to him coming
back. I usually DVR the show and watch it the next morning. I have enjoyed his
sense of humor for years. I wasn't all up in arms about the Leno thing like a lot of
people were but I have never watched a minute of Leno since he has been back.
Never been a huge fan of Letterman either so I am glad to have some late night
TV ( early morning for me ) back in the rotation.

everything that conan went through as far as the network and leno and being "dissed"; i understand.

but enough with the woe-is-me-i-can-i-work-again angle (which was used again in his intro).

as stated in this thread, you got paid $32 million dollars to walk away. you'd never need to work again. no one should feel sorry for you.

I think that angle will fade after the first week of the show, but I would
agree with you that those types of jokes are kind of hacky. Especially with
what so many people are going through and the golden parachute he received.

I'll watch this week. Then I'll go back to my normal routine of ignoring all of these late night shows, but still claim that Conan is my favorite since that is the cool thing to do.

meh.

Ferguson has the only somewhat new take on the late-night talk show format since the Larry Sanders Show. Conan's new show feels like a step back from what he was doing at NBC even. I only watched the last few weeks at NBC, but those were stellar. Last night's show was eminently skippable. You could catch up on the better bits in 5 minutes on-line, without having to suffer through 23 minutes of commercials, Seth Rogen talking about weed on tv for the 1,000th time in his career and some chick from Glee who it would've been better had Conan just run a full-screen slideshow of her various slutty photo shoots.

Why not interview nutcracker lady instead of boring-ass Rogen, who seemed to wonder what the hell he was doing there. Richter and Conan wearing the ex-talk show host masks for the entire show or even just a complete interview segment would've at least been different. Jack White's sorta interview was kooky-goodness.

Monologues really have been subpar thus far. Hanks is always a decent guest.
Kind of cool to see Soundgarden play at the end, although I wasn't all that
impressed with the song. Did inspire me to bring Temple of the Dog to work
though. So far the show seems like he has invited all his friends to show up,
like he couldn't get anyone else. People who have movies that don't come out
for 8 months like Hanks or even 3 months like Rogen just seems odd.
