I guess the no trade clause Hendry offered was only for the first 3 years of the 5 year contract offer.

He just wants to challenge Tuffy Rhodes and Roosevelt Brown's HR records

wait, what is the deal here?

was he cut/waived by the team? or was he on contract for next year, and just decided to play in Japan instead of staying?

Step off the edge, or at least go to the back of the building so you land in the alley.

Unrelated Ham Fighters is the great name for a baseball team. Just wait til they play the Okinawa Turkey Drumsticks

Poor whistler.

At least he will be able to break Murton's records, yes?

Let me say I was one of the people that wanted to see him at 1B, not as a permanent switch, but while D Lee was bedazzling us with another sub .200 start in May, I would like to have seen Halfpower get a shot.

Hoff was a different type of hitter. He had great bat control and pounded AAA pitching and could hit curve balls, but he could not catch up to ML fastballs. Usually it is the other way around, guys can hit fastballs but it takes them years to wait on breaking stuff.

However, with this talent of hitting but not good at above 90 stuff, he should do very well in Japan and challenge Murton.

Maybe Jim Hendry should be a Japanese league GM????

Different as in could hit a breaking ball, could touch above 90 fastball. Usually the other way around on rooks, even if they are 28.

He could have also just been sitting dead red offspeed all the time. That would explain not being able to touch a 90 plus fastball.

Sitting dead red means fastball.

That would just make him a dumbass if he was looking for a breaking ball ALL the time. Then again somebody had to balance out Soriano.

Hendry should have shit canned Hasselhoff 3 years ago instead of releasing Casey McGehee. Scouting at it's best.

I didn't say he wasn't a dumbass. Its just a theory to explain how a seasoned AAAA player can't catch up to a plus 90 mph fastball as the big man said. There is no way he hit that well in the minors (where they throw 90 plus quite a bit) with that bad of bat speed. Players that just want to hit bombs have been known to sit on curveballs.

He could have had 25 HR / 100 RBIs at 2B instead of that pile of crap he rotated through the position. Amazing judge of talent that one.

why wouldnt they keep him in AAA again at the least?

and is his Cub contract now void?

When he was 27 in AAA he batted .317...the next year in AAA batted .362....so I don't think he just sat on changeups, the guy just couldn't touch big time heat that almost every MLB has...when I say that I mean 94 MPH fast balls....Yes, even Maddux could throw that at one time

Hendry bullied him into leaving the country.

and u guys are right...in the end it was Micah's choice and as long as that's the case, I'm happy for him

he's got a cute baby wife, kinda chubby around the ass, but real cute and short and a good down-home wife for Micah
