I find it odd that he was only observed 4-5 times during the season. Generally a team will have a different roving instructor and or a player development staffer/scout at nearly every home series throughout the entire season. These guys don't just teach their specific skill (catching, infield, baserunning......), they also evaluate the staff and they are supposed to scout the opposing players in case they ever wish to acquire one of them. Then they meet throughout and after the year and discuss. He should have been evaluated no less than 50-60 times. Let me change that....Generally a successful organization....

I think what pisses people off is that Hendry challenged the guy to manage in the minors, he does so for 4 years, then they basically give him a courtesy interview and give Quade the job. I ask what the fuck has Quade ever done not to mention Hendry? Just a lack of professionism and class from Hendry is what gets me.

I think it has to do with Ricketts essentially being a lousy owner and doing nothing to improve the team. Hiring Quade typifies a BS attitude of "it was Jim's choice", etc. Sandberg could have endured this period of aging vets and learned on the job and then when the new blood comes in to the GM chair, Sandberg would be the established manager. Why not let Sandberg learn now and give the fans what they want in the managers chair? They certainly ain't getting much on the field thanks to Hendry.<p>It's pretty obvious however that the axe will fall on both Hendry and Quade soon enough, but probably not until 2012 so Ricketts doesn't have to eat their salaries. Just a fucked up franchise outside of Tim Wilkens.
