Read today in the Suntimes' Monsters PAID advertisement that December 6th is the opening of the Mike North Entertainment Network

You've got to be F'n kidding me. Get your popcorn ready for yet another train wreck delivered in such a (bad) way that only BOOB North can do.

Cant wait to see the programming. Bookie Priest could get a full 4 hr slot.

Such a network has to feature Tom Dressen.

I can't believe he is still on at Fox. 8-11 AM on Saturdays, and the only college football that he talks is 1) his terrible picks and 2) constant slurping of Boise.

Why doesn't he understand that a team from the SEC or Pac 10 that runs the table will always be ahead of a team that plays in the WAC?

The following strength of schedule numbers are from Sagarin's computer rankings:

Oregon - 19
Auburn - 40
TCU -68
Boise - 71

The first question I would ask if I were to interview for a position with the MNEN is....Will my paycheck clear when I cash it?

I'll say this for Mike North: He never stops trying.

The latest creation from Mr. North is a revamp of his NorthToNorth website, featuring new original content and a lineup of sponsors with commitments totaling "in the six figures," he said. It will debut next Monday.

"It's Webio with eyes," Mr. North said.

Ah, Webio. If you recall, that was Mr. North's attempt to start a sports talk radio station on the Internet in 2009. The enterprise fell apart when it was disclosed that his partner, David Hernandez, had funded the station using money from a Ponzi scheme.

Mr. North also has tried but failed to sustain two morning TV shows since leaving WSCR-AM/670 in 2008. However, Mr. North hardly has been idle since WBBM-TV/Channel 2 canceled "Monsters and Money" in August.

"Mike has 900 ideas a day," his wife Be-Be said.

In addition to working two weekend shifts at Fox Sports Radio, Mr. North has decided the Internet is the place to be. Beginning next Monday, the schedule will include a "5 Minute Half Hour Newscast."

"It's news for people with ADD," he said. Let's just say Mr. North won't be channeling his inner Wolf Blitzer when it comes to serious news and analysis.

He will post daily commentaries under the heading of "I'm Just Sayin'." Other features include the ever-popular "Bookie Priest." Also coming soon: the worldwide release of Mr. North's music video, "Caucasian Man," which features a cameo from Mike Ditka.

The 58-year old Mr. North will be the first to admit that he is lost when it comes to operating a computer. The simplest thing has him crying out, "BEEE!"for help.

But he knows enough to see the potential for content and advertisers. His sponsors range from American Mattress and the city of Rosemont to Tom's Deli.

American Mattress is a prime sponsor of the page Mr. North bought in the Chicago Sun-Times. However, that deal expires Friday, and it appears unlikely it will continue in print.

"Our sponsors have said they don't know if they want to continue in print," Mr. North said. "This is a chance for us to bring in big businesses and small businesses. It's great that our sponsors believe in us."

The key question is: Will Mr. North's fans?

Mr. North might be the most polarizing subject I've covered in two years writing this blog. He has plenty of detractors.

However, he also has plenty of followers, and that audience is expanding beyond Chicago on Fox Sports Radio; WIND-AM/560 also airs his 9 p.m.-to-midnight show on Sunday.

If you like his brand of humor and commentary, then try out his site next Monday.

"The beauty of this is that it is a work in progress," Be-Be North said. "If something works, we'll keep doing it. If it doesn't work, we'll try something else. We're going to be constantly evolving and responding to the people

sponsors paying in the six-figures for this????? LIAR

Note to self....Cross American Mattress off my list of potential stores to shop at. Honestly, whatever company affiliates itself with North,....I "ain't" doing business with them.
