or west Bloomingdale or parts of Hanover Park....I've decided to make a run at the local school board (District 93). I'm doing this very grassroots like so as dates come up, I'll be posting some things on facebook - feel free to let them look me up and add me to facebook.

Thanks

8) 8) 8) Vince. Hope it happens.

What's your position on corporal punishment in schools, cuz I'm all for keeping those rug rats in line....kids need respect for authority, especially these days.

I think we ought to throw babies and bombs at kids who get out of line.

That's a lot of males. Sounds like a party at spmacks house.

So why am I running? Well, for the first obvious reason, I want to be more involved in how our schools are educating our kids and spending my property taxes. Selfishly, I want to ensure my two kids (6 and 3) get the most that they can out of the schools. Additionally, I think the technology in the school district is lacking and would like to make that a focus going forward. Granted these are 5-14 year olds, but they need to start being prepared for where technology is headed. The earlier it can be done, the better.

My pops was on the School Board. Teachers would definitely act different towards me, that's for sure.

I think that is a great thing, Vince.

Your friends and family should be proud of you.
Will the election signs say "Vote for Hawkeye Vince?"

Study after study has demonstrated that more computers = lower reading/writing/math skills. And the younger age at which the technology is introduced, the lower the scores and the less likely the child is to rebound in later years. If the kids aren't doing well at the basics, giving them more distractions in the form of computers with internet access is like giving a drunk-driver more to drink.

I think giving every child an abacus the first day of school is a solid platform to run on.

Is it legal to donate to campaigns in areas you do not live? If so, your opponents can expect a big check.

Ah I forgot about that. That's why you haven't been posting on here. You missed the big celebration for Boob Lynch's firing, but no worries I saved you a slice of cake.

Good luck Vince. Can't vote for you since I'm in the neighboring district (13, but you knew that). My dad was on the high school SB for a while (I was already gone and married but
my youngest sister was still at the school). There was plenty of rewarding parts, but be
prepared to take a lot of grief for 4 years if you win.

When did that become a requirement to be on a school board?

Obviously it's not which is why there's so many bad ones. Just so he's not one of those "We need to run schools/libraries/whatever the fuck I can get elected to more like a business" assholes I see running all the time.

As of 2 PM today (last filing date), I will be running unopposed for an unexpired 2 year term. Like the Hawkeyes, I will find a way to give up a late lead.

Boy, the pressure is really on for you not to slip up! Good luck with the
whole experience. This could spawn some interesting threads down the
line.
