Man, I was excited to hear some talk about a big Bear playoff victory but with the collective hand wringing I've heard this morning you'd think every person in the Chicago area has broken hands.

I remember a simpler time when pre-med candidate Ken Noisewater just appreciated the fact that a game had been won and we were moving on.

When did it become a requirement that a Chicago team dominate in the post-season for it to be legitimate? I know we've been spoiled with dominant playoff runs. But at the end of the day, you still get to go to the next round.

I'm ready to hand the victory over to Seattle and let them go to NO to play the NFC Championship because there were plays that, if we didn't make them, would have caused us to lose. Since we didn't win 42-0, it shouldn't count.

Can't we have one day to appreciate a victory and clutch plays by Gould, Grossman, Davis, the D line, Briggs, etc. They came up big in huge spots. I was surprised the game was close, but the Bears did what they did all year - dug down and found a way to win. I thought it was great.

Lovie is not supposed to be supplying the horrifying experience - timeout with :02 left? WTF? OK, see, now I'm killing the buzz.

One more thing, if I hear one more analyst say that Grossman is good in the pocket but has poor mechanics and struggles when pressured I'm going to throw something through the screen (if I'm at a bar, not when I'm home).

How many QBs are better under pressure and don't have "mechanical breakdowns" with guys rolling at their feet and hanging on their back? That's just ridiculous analyses.

They're just saying he's bad under pressure. Obviously, all QBs are worse under pressure, but Rex is exceptionally poor when pressured. Watching the other playoff games, it really stands out watching the other QBs step up to avoid the rush or possibly roll out of the pocket; Rex, for whatever reason, rarely utilizes these techniques, which makes him more vulnerable to pressure.

I think he was pressured pretty consistently yesterday and made 1 or 2 bad plays as a result.

I don't think that's completely out of the ordinary. Brady threw 3 picks yesterday and the analysis I heard today was, Brady didn't have his best day, but look at the clutch throws he made (ESPN).

Obviously, Brady has more of a track record and deserves this but Grossman was good yesterday. I just feel that analysts stick with their "talking points" too much and that one is just a bad one. Aikman finally did break down after it had been hammered to death and say that "all QBs are worse under pressure", so I'll give him that.

OK, I'm done with Rex talk.

Doc, here is how the week should work: enjoy the victory today, fear the saints tomorrow, build up a series of reasons the bears will win on wednesday-friday, have a breakdown about none of those reasons being valid on saturday and then sunday................

I agree Dolphin. That's the way I learned it. This Monday angst has me completely flustered.
