I promise never to memorialize Hawk upon his passing if you agree to shut up about Santo, including reinvigorated Hall of Fame talk. Do we have a deal?

Some fuck in my neighborhood has his Christmas tree and a Santo jersey hanging in his front window. Look, I can understand loving a loser as evidenced by me going to Cleo's on Friday night, but have some perspective.

I will agree if you can guarantee that happening before the season starts. I would actually like to watch the Sox this year without retching.

As a Cubs fan...I agree whole heartedly. I was sick of the "mascot" persona that Santo had become. I'm not surprised by the reaction, but I don't have to like it. I'm afraid its not over yet either. We still have the wake & funeral to get past, and then I'm sure Rickett's and the marketing geniuses will have something renamed or dedicated or whatever to Santo at the start of next season.

God it's a bitch being a Cubs fan sometimes!

It would keep the fans warm on those cold meaningless April games when the Cubs are already out of it.

Enternal flaming toupee on top of one of the foul poles.

I think they should have a small souviner stand outside of Wrigley with maybe game used equipment, autographs and stuff up for auction. The proceeds should go toward the JDRF. Keep it outside the park so people in the neighborhood as well as people going to the game can access it. That would do tons more good than a statue or something. I mean, his number is already retired so he will always have that up there as tribute.

I was at Hawks game Friday night (button 48). The "moment of silence" for Santo lasted 0.84 seconds until the "Go Cubbies!" morons came out.

I had no expectations. Just stating what I heard.

I didn't really care, as a Cardinals fan.

An eternal flaming toupee on top of two prosthetic legs.

And a bin outside for old glasses.

They did the moment of silence at the Bulls game on Saturday too. No loud outbursts. I guess the thug fans have more class.

Anyone remember the episode of Arlis when he bought Monty Strattons leg!!!!!!!

I think they auction off Ronnies legs for JDRF.

The Toupe can go to Gall Bladder cancer research

Hows about we bury both Santo and Hawk in the same plot and call it even-steven? Ron only needs a kid-sized casket to begin with, so with some creative Tetris-like positioning, a slightly oversized casket would fit the two nicely ... a regular Felix and Oscar in the afterlife.
