Good in comparison to the other LaRoche.

The best thing about Adam LaRoche is the great pose he strikes after swinging and missing. Reminds me of Aaron Rowand.

Gonnorhea is better than syphillis. But I don't want either of them playing 1st base for the Cubs.

Good in comparison to being shot in the face....

LaRoche wouldn't be awful. I rather have Pena.

He'd probably give us 20-25 home runs and a .780-.800 ops. Provided Hendry doesn't do something stupid like 2/18, I wouldn't be too upset

 I just went to LaRoche's Baseball Reference page

http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/l/larocad01.shtml

And it is sponsored with the following:

Did you know that Adam LaRoche looks just like Bert from Sesame Street? Check out more MLB Look-alikes at TheGoldenSombrero.com

Laroche isn't bad by any means. Depending on how much you buy into Saber stats, he's a 2.0 WAR at 1st with a 5.2 UZR last year.

Adam LaRoche would be a perfect fit for the Cubs. He couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat for the first 2 months of the season then turns it on when his team has nothing to play for.

Hendry  What the fuck are you smoking on down there in Orlando??? You better be offering up Fuk or Grabow or   Soriano.

The Rangers and Cubs are discussing a trade that would send Chris Davis and Darren O'Day to Chicago, according to Ed Price of AOLFanHouse (on Twitter).

The chatter I saw about this said it could very well be for a few cub prospects. If there is any truth to this then all I can say is....What the FUCK Hendry??

Bust prospect at 24?? I think acquiring Davis would be a great move for the Cubs.

Well, bust so far. He's had like three seasons and done nothing. Could be a late bloomer, but with Hendry evaluating him I tend to think not.

I am not sure that Davis is going to be able to fix his "issue". He has a tendency to literally strike out or hit a home run. He is Brandon Wood who occasionally makes contact. When a guy has that big of a hole in his swing I am not sure its something you can fix. The great Jaramillo may have the key to unlock his greatness though. They can keep O'day. Once you figure him out it's batting practice. Keep the prospects and give them Fuk.

It appears Pena will be officially signed today to a 1 yr 10 mil deal.

A bit high on the money, but overall solid. His BABIP was a ridiculously low .222 last year so once that returns to normal his batting average should rise closer to his .240-.250 mark.

Hopefully there aren't any hidden injuries that explain the big drop in average, but a one year deal, I don't have reason to say this often, but well done Jim.

What I was reading yesterday was that once this deal was squared away the next move was to shop Fuk today.

I'll take 'em both for the right price. I like Davis and think with a good swing coach he'll be a good hitter.

Goodbye Fuk. Thanks for at least being better than Heep Sop Choi. Cubs vaunted Pacific rim scouting takes another hit.

$10mil for a guy that hit less than 30HRs and under .200 last season. Boy, you guys would have a field day if Kenny Williams made this signing

Its a one year deal. No long term deal, no investment, no risk. If he does well they will probably trade him anyways at the deadline and pick up some prospects and make the other team pay half his salary.
