This supposed "video game mentality" was a product of the powers that be at TribCo not wanting their legacy as owners to be a loser. They gave him a Yankee-style open checkbook and he ran with it. You can't blame him for that.

Pena was OFFERED a contract. He and his agent knew the terms of the contract BEFORE he signed it. If he didn't like the deal, he could have rejected it. To say he was bullied is ridiculous. Whistler...you put the bull into the word bullied. Lastly, the Cubs offer was ridiculous, on that I will agree. They offered too much!
