I think a big aspect of watching Napoleon D. is that larger the audience, the funnier it is. I saw about a third of it with a group of twenty or so people and laughed my ass off. My wife and I rented it and had to force ourselves to watch the whole thing. I imagine it would have been a great Brew N View experience.

I saw Escape from LA at the BnV and it was probably the best movie-going experience in my life!

You'll love the fight scene with the other station's anchors.

"I stabbed a guy"
"Yeah, I saw that. You know, you might want to lay low for a while..."

I could see North and Macky doing just this.

I watched Napoleon D with my teenagers. They filled me in on all the jokes that were going right past me. I missed most of the humor, but the under 18s loved it.

Am I the only guy that thought Anchorman was stupid?

I always find it interesting when people (including me) say stuff like that. "Am I the only one?" It's like, we're all a part of this club and everyone's gotta be on the same page with everything. "I liked Airplane!" "Yeah me too!" "Overrated!" "Hey, what's wrong with that guy?" "He doesn't like Airplane?" "Let him go!"

Of course I'm just using Airplane as an example. NO ONE SHOULD NOT LIKE THAT MOVIE.

I think, especially with comedies, it's just based on taste. I like a lot of movies that people roll their eyes at (including "Napoleon Dynamite") but I don't care. I thought it was frigging hilarious. I thought "Anchorman" was one of the funniest movies that came out in the last few years. But that's me.

But I am all about giving things a second chance as well. Maybe after you see "Anchorman" a second time, things start seeming funnier. Maybe they don't. Again, based on taste. And timing. And...mood.

The same goes for Anchorman, Telladega Nights, Dodge Ball, Starsky & Hutch...

This may need a thread of it's own - Movies enjoyed while under the influence

When I was in college, we used to have ceremonial breakings of albums that sucked. Anchorman strikes me as a DVD that should undergo a ceremonial breaking..at least by some.

It's a two-view. I didn't like it much the first time I saw it, but I found it very funny the second time. You almost have to have a "feel" for it.

You have to see the anchorman-fight at least; that and the post-fight dialog are the best parts of the movie, IMO.
