Meanwhile, another veteran sports broadcaster — Mike North — is going to show a different side of himself when he shows up Wednesday and Thursday as a guest co-host on the morning drive show on conservative talk radio WIND-AM (560).

North will share the microphone with Amy Jacobson while her regular co-host Big John Howell is away for a couple of days. North has never worked with Jacobson, but is looking forward to doing so.

“I don’t know whether to be scared or terrified,” said Jacobson.

Politics isn’t one of North’s principal areas of expertise, but he said he’s prepared to talk with some authority about the city’s mayoral campaign and whatever other topics come up for discussion. North was already on the radar screen at WIND, because the station simulcasts his Sunday night sports talk show on Fox Sports Radio, which does not have an outlet in Chicago.

This Mike North is a real person? I thought he was some sort of made up board meme.

As if I needed another reason to not listen to WIND, although, the call letters are fitting for that assclown.

dude i fucking called this in one of the other recent/ish threads! someone was lambasting his political views in a five and a half minute 30 minute news thing and i was like "get this man a morning show! how are the ratings for big john howell and amy jacobsen in the mornings on WIND?"

/me ponders if he's discovered the godlike ability to make his whims and fancies reality. hmmmmmm.

i'd love to be a fly on the wall for a conversation between a loosened-n-limber anne maxfield and amy jacobsen at a bar, with anne letting amy know what she's going to have to deal with come the end of this week.

I told you months ago he would be doing fill in work when the stations empty the benches during the holidays. I thought he'd be on the air on thanksgiving, christmas eve and new year's eve.

Lacking knowledge of a topic has never stopped Mike from having a strong opinion about it.

If they paired North with Michael Savage, I would buy sponsored time. That would be some hilarious stuff.

Of course North wants to cozy up to another blonde - unfortunately for him, this one has some brains and actually got a college degree.

As for her comments, first off, isn't being scared and/or terrified the same thing? And so says the person who swam in a pool with a murder suspect.

His show is absolutely hilarious. He makes Rush Limbaugh look like Jesse Jackson.

I catch him once in awhile when my radio is set to 560 after an Illini game. I'm not really sure what his politics are. He seems to hate just about everyone.

He's pretty much to the right of God.

This is REALLY BIG NEWS for MIKE NORTH. He will show that he is a NATURAL at political talk. Right now, unfortunately, he is only known for his paramount skills within the world of sports talk. Frankly, now the mandarins of political talk will get word of North and his reputation will spread. Soon he will be filling in for virtuosos like Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, and Sean Hannity. There will be a clamor for more and more North. NorthtoNorth will be the first ever "appointment website." He will make or break national candidates. The $400 Million for 8 years that Rush got will just be the starting point in North's negotiations.

Michael Savage would eat North Alive and not let him get a word in after calling him a mental lightweight red diaper doper baby.
