I don't know that there is a big gap there as far as talent goes. Harris is a very talented DT, the difference is Peppers has been way healthier.

Yes, but besides like a 10 game stretch, the talent gap has been pretty wide their entire careers.

If your performance is blamed on your lack of health for several years in a row, I'm not gonna consider you as talented as someone that several times a season displays talent equal to the best in the league at his position.

I guess I did not realize that health affected talent.

I think to a certain degree it's arguable it does. But even taking health out of the equation, Harris has never been close really to Peppers in talent in my mind.

I think it is pretty close. When he was healthy, who was a better DT in the league?

Albert Haynesworth. Unless he's only been healthy for like half of '06 and '07 then there's probably 4-5 more you can add to it. If everyone was 100% I'd take the Williams guys over him too, especially Kevin.

I agree. Harris isn't in Peppers class, but they are both up & down players. Harris' talent level isn't close to Peppers.

Well Tommie Harris sucks no matter how "healthy" he is or who plays next to him. Peppers did make everybody else on the line better though.

True, I did get that wrong. He is playing worse than last year.

For the life of me I cant understand why the Bears don't cut Tommie Harris & save the $25-$30 million or so that he is owed until 2012 including $8 million this year.

Peppers leads the NFL is batted passes at the line of scrimmage.

Still think this was a bad move, Kirkhead?

Apparently you haven't read any of my recent posts about Peppers where I said after a terrible start to the season, he has been a beast the last 9 games & should win defensive player of the year. I just wish the Bears would spent some money on the OL & WR's. Brandon Manumaleuna & Chester Taylor have been awful & a complete waste of money.

You sound like a national media guy. Were you actually watching the games or looking at sack numbers later?

The first few games were disappointing? Like the Detroit game where Peppers decapitated Matthew Stafford? Or the Packers game where he drew an obscene number of holding penalties?
