Didn't see the whole thing, but saw most of the Bozo part last night, watched with my neice and nephew and they were stunned at how crappy some of the cartoons were. I had to explain to them that Black and white wasn't the color of the outside of the TV but the picture.

They commented on how weird all the people looked (Kids ands adults)

Not old enough to really remember "Ringmaster Bob", who was then replaced by Frazier Thomas.

What was kind of funny was listening to Bozo, Cookie and Wizo bust each others balls that went over all the kids heads all the time.

Then of course "THE GRAND PRIZE GAME" of which was the big deal, then last night they showed the buckets and you can tell they stored this game somewhere every night that dented and dinged every bucket. Overall the whole thing was pretty lame, but as a kid, it was the shit, as someone could win a new bike! from Schwinn!

They actually gave away a ton of gifts to the mothers when the kids won stuff.

If you remembe this shit and find it on TV, worth the watch.

Don't need the Bozo mult here. too predictable.

I talked to Wizzo a couple months ago. Maybe we will get him in studio on Sports & Torts.

Dave, isn't Elliott Harris involved? I would think the show should be named Sports and Twats...

I went to the the show a couple of times. They gave away a lot of stuff just for walking in the door.

The rumor growing up is that mothers would send in ticket requests when their children were born because there was such a long backlog for tickets.

I'm surprised you haven't seen it before. The show originally aired in 2005.

This will make many of you feel old, but I was once on the "Bozo Show", circa 1981. Unfortunately, it was taped on Beta. That being said, I remember participating in an audience participation game that they used to have in addition to the Grand Prize Game. The game I remember playing in involved sitting on balloons in a relay race-like format. Unfortunately for me, it wasn't as easy as it appeared back then. I did get what was kinda like a hula hoop with a beach ball attached, plus a box of Hostess Twinkies for participating. I also remember seeing Bozo when he headlined the annual Shrine Circus that used to take place annually at Medinah Temple downtown many years ago.

As for the special you're referring, it first aired in 2005 with host Dean Richards, and it definitely brought back plenty of memories for me and was very well done. I'm actually old enough to remember when Ned Locke was Bozo's ringmaster, long before the late Frazier Thomas, not to mention when "Bozo's Circus" used to air at 12Noon weekdays.

If that's not old enough, I also remember Ray Rayner weekday mornings. Ray always wore a jumpsuit, complete with post-it notes to remind him what was on the show. He also had a duck named Chevelston and the place he used to call home, Animal Kingdom on North Milwaukee Ave. He also showed classic Warner Bros. cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and the Road Runner, plus had a two-sided baseball cap in which he'd flip one side for the White Sox and the other for the Cubs. When he said "BYE, BYE, BYE!" at the end of the show back then, they'd play the classic Warner Bros. "Merrie Melodies" fanfare in closing.

My favorite show was when Ray Rayner hosted "The Dick Tracy" show. This was BEFORE the Ray Rayner show. I guess it started in 1964.

Our neighbors across the street had a daughter the same age as I am and her little brother and my little sister are a couple years younger than we are. Our moms sent in for tickets when the younger kids were born. We finally went when we were five years old. None of us played the Grand Prize Game but we did have the pleasure of choking down those shitty Archway cookies.

I'm surprised bigfan doesn't know Ray Raynor personally what with his being a Wilmette boy and all. Ray lived on the same block as my ex-wife when she was a kid.

Ray Rayner actually made a brief comeback in the mid '90s when he did an entire week with Bob Sirott & Marianne Murciano on the former "FOX Thing in the Morning", complete with the jumpsuit, post-it notes, etc.

I was on the Grand Prize game back in 1974 when I was 6 years old.

I got to bucket #3. Lost on #4.

Okay anyone else years later still able to sing "Hardrock, Coco and Joe verse for verse" and does anyone else looking back kind of creeped out by the Santo on the cartoon?

I took my two kids there in the mid 90s - when both kids nailed all six buckets. First time since '64 I guess. I felt bad for the one that had to go 'second' - and when they hit 'em all, I couldn't believe it. That place went bezerk. Very small studio.
