Did you watch the Jets game Frank? What did you see Peppers do that was good? Its ok if you think that every Bears player is great every week. Meatball nation...GO BEARS....WOO HOO!!!
Peppers didn't show up for the Jets game & he will grade out poorly, as he should.
Players have bad games. Peppers had another one Sunday.

Here are a few quotes from recaps of the Bears Jets game that I found searching for about 30 seconds:

Defense: D+
It gets the plus for the pick in the end. This defense was so bad today. Peppers was nowhere to be found. And Sanchez looked like Tom Brady in the first half completing everything without a pick. Also, Jennings dropped the easy pick. Just a bad day for the D

Peppers had a bad day. He was double teamed all day. In fact, for the most part, the defensive line was pretty ineffective against the solid Jets Oline.

Defense D-/C+ They only had a few drives where they actually won the battle today against the Jets offense. Coming up with the turnover early in the game and the INT at the end of the game boost the grade for me. They bent as usual and kept the opposing team from having more points on the board than the Bears when the clock ran out at the end of the game and thats all that matters in the end. Peppers was a non factor.

Were you not responding to my post about Peppers?
Ajent ripped me after my post about how Peppers played poorly against the Jets.

Kirk, take your Geico quote for your 4th car and shove it up your ass. You're an idiot, you always have been, and by the looks of things you always will be.

I never said Peppers played well yesterday, you just put words in my mouth/post. He HAS, however, undeniably played awesome in a lot of games and you have dismissed it because he only had 1 sack, or 3 tackles or whatnot. He has been a beast the vast majority of this season and is one of the biggest reasons the Bears have 11 wins. He is a Pro Bowler and will get some consideration for Defensive POY. But it was still a bad signing, and he is overpaid in your eyes

I don't understand why Peppers is the starter. Justin Tuck has been in more commercials.

Well, unless the Eagles have another 4th quarter miracle ready or the Vikings collapse (either of which is possible), the Bears might be 6:00+ away from getting the #2 seed. Vikings are winning 24-14 with 6:43 to go.

The Bears should be doing everything in their power to keep the Packers out of the playoffs. That is the team that is most able to beat the Bears.

For sure, go all out in a game that will most likely mean nothing and risk dealing with injuries when you actually play a game that has meaning.

The Bears main objective is to prepare to win their first playoff game. If that means resting their players this week so be it. They earned that right by winning the division and securing (at least) the 2nd seed in the playoffs.

If the Packers special teams didn't suck then I think they would be the one team that the Bears would want to keep out of the playoffs. However, their kick coverage and kick returns completely suck. Shields can not judge a ball in the air to save his life. Watch him misjudge the kickoff and get a horrible start because he is either fielding it off the hop or back tracking. Jarret Bush is probably one of the worst players to ever play football and when he is not blowing lane assignments on kick coverage he is getting stupid block in the back or holding penalties on the return.

If Devin plays then it will take a monumental effort by the packers to win because the bears should be playing on a half field all day.

But as it stands now, the Packers would have to win 2 road games and the Bears their playoff opener against Philly/NO to meet again.

If this is done correctly the Bears regulars will see no more than 2 series on both O and D. I will say Pack 34-3.

If the Bears play this game all the way through with their starters then Coach Smith is a boob.

Y'all don't think the Bear want to win to keep Green Bay out of the playoffs?

Not worth the risk of not playing them later? They're the only real threat I believe out of the remaining bubble teams.

The Giants knocked Cutler out with a concussion. I would much rather not see them again in the playoffs.

SHARK has your announcers for the Bears/Packers' game in Green Bay, according to the506.com. Joe Buck, Troy Aikman & Pam Oliver were at Lambeau to watch the Packers' beatdown of the Giants last Sunday. They'll call the Bears & Packers Sunday on FOX Sports HD.

The game will be at Soldier. I'll happily take the risk of a of a rusty and healthy team seeing them then.

The debate can rage on, but there will still be meaning when the Bears & Packers kickoff at 3:15p Sunday. A Green Bay win Sunday secures a playoff spot regardless of what Tampa Bay does in New Orleans, Atlanta does at home to Carolina and what the New York Giants do at Washington. That being said, I think the Bears should treat this game as if it really matters. Head coach Lovie Smith appears to be leaning in the same direction.

Why do you think that SHARK? Especially if Atlanta clinches the #1 seed before the Bears even take the field? The risk of a) injury or b) playing our starters and getting worked far outweigh the potential gain of keeping Green Bay out of the playoffs.

The game still has meaning between the Bears & Packers. You know there will be fans calling Doug Buffone & Ed O'Bradovich if the Bears lose to their ancient rivals, regardless if the game only means something to Green Bay when they do kick it off...

Who cares?

If the Bears do not have a chance at the #1 seed, there is zero sense in playing the starters past the 1st quarter.

Frank, it's very unlikely the Bears will have a shot at the #1 overall seed by the time they kick it off. I don't see the Panthers and the very inept Jim "I Should've Stayed at Notre Dame" Clausen pulling off the road upset in Atlanta. Not so sure about Josh Freeman and the Buccaneers getting the road win in New Orleans either. I think there are a lot of Bear fans who don't want to see the Packers in the NFL Playoffs at the end of the day...That's all.
