The fact that he's back on his game as a return bloke is good news for the Bears and bad news for opposing teams. That being said , what are your opinions on the Bears opponents tactics of plain kicking it away from him, pooch kicking, saying before games that they wont kick it to him, etc. Football being the macho man vs man sport that it is, if you were a member of the opposing teams kick cover team, wouldnt you be offended by your coach doing these things? is it too meatball to say , fuck that coach, kick it to him , we can cover it. Or is discretion the better part of valor and better football sense to avoid kicking to him? Seems like when they dont, the ball ends up on the 40 anyway. I personally would want to kick to him and have the chance to smash his face in and challenge myself to see if I could compete with the best. Thoughts?

If I were the opposing coach, EVERY punt would be out of bounds.

Kickoffs might be angled, maybe try and boot them out of the end zone or very deep so there is no return, or high, shorter kickoffs like the Jets did a few times on Sunday.

Definitely smart to kick it to him. He hasn't shown the ability to consistently return it for positive yards and touchdowns

Ask the Giants punter how 'pride' worked out for him on the kick to Jackson.

Well thats kinda what Im saying, admitting that your team isnt good enough to cover him. Isnt that a reflection on you, your staff and players being failures? Hard for most coaches to admit that.

Make every kickoff an onside kick, and never punt.

I think its better to admit it than trying to be macho and kicking it to him and possibly costing your team a win.
Decisions and outcomes like that can get coaches fired

Would love to see how many times hester has crossed the 50 as well. He has had so many returns when he gets caught be the last guy, or like the Jets game, down at the 6!

Or a better stat would be how many 30+ yard returns has he had as punt and kickoff returner. What's that record for each and what's the combined record? Has Hester broken all of these? Probably not. That's something that would probably take more time for Hester. Mitchell might have these records cuz he played so long. I'm surprised, with all of the people covering the NFL, that stat hasn't been researched and brought to our attention.

Irish Boy, get on it.
