New Network to Debut on New Year’s Day on Multicast Stations Nationwide

50 million homes reached in first wave of station launches

Tribune Broadcasting is preparing to ring in 2011 with back-to-back marathons of classic TV shows The Three Stooges and Benny Hill on the new Antenna TV digital multicast network.

Antenna TV starts broadcasting at midnight, EST, on January 1, 2011 with more than 24 hours of The Three Stooges. The program lineup on Sunday, January 2, 2011 is built around a Benny Hill marathon.

“The New Year’s holiday weekend is a great time for viewers to have a laugh and settle in with great TV classics,” said Sean Compton, President of Programming for Tribune Broadcasting. “We can’t wait to share these great shows with audiences across the country.”

The network’s regular programming schedule, featuring a combination of movies and classic television shows including All in the Family, Sanford and Son, The Nanny, Married with Children, Maude, Good Times, Three’s Company, The Partridge Family and Burns & Allen begins on Monday, January 3, 2011. Legendary announcer Gary Owens is the voice of the channel.

Antenna TV will air on the digital channels of 19 Tribune Broadcasting stations in the U.S., including WPIX-TV (11.3) New York, KTLA-TV (5.2) Los Angeles, and WGN-TV (9.2) Chicago. Additional clearances include 13 LocalTV LLC affiliates and other stations nationwide totaling more than 50 million U.S. households.

Yeah, you got me on this one, but I don't exactly have Antenna TV either. I have DIRECTV, and they don't exactly have that channel. DIRECTV also doesn't have MeTOO, which is the second MeTV channel that had been airing classic dramas until 2 weeks ago, and they likely won't have The U TOO.

If "U" enjoy "Jerry Springer," "The King of Queens", "George Lopez" and other more modern fare on WCIU 26, this channel is supposed to air similar programming as well as all those DePaul basketball losses in the Big East. "U" will find that channel on WCIU 26.2, and it's supposed to debut Wednesday. See what I did there? WCIU.com has all the goods as well where else to find The U TOO.

I always get excited for half a second when I see Benny Hinn on the guide channel then I realize he is talking about Jesus and not having half naked girls run around to Yakkity Sax and I get bummed out and watch a Cops re run.

Phil, the highlight of any "Benny Hill Show" wasn't just him and the women...It was the fast motion and the theme song...
