I would like to attend this concert, but I was wondering if I could be lead singer for a few songs. Here are the songs that I am most an expert at singing:

1. There is a Light that Never Goes Out - The Smiths
2. Stop Me if You Think That You've Heard This One Before - The Smiths
3. Teen Age Riot - Sonic Youth
4. Down in a Tube Station at Midnight - The Jam
5. Slide Away - Oasis
6. White Man in Hammersmith Palais - The Clash
7. EMI - The Sex Pistols

Trust me, I have hundreds of hours of practicing these songs, and I will not let you down. Also, as I am happily married, I would funnel the inevitable groupies to other members of the band.

I will accept this as an open invitation to be the "guest lead singer" for a few numbers. I do not know how the rest of the band will dress, but I would probably wear neatly pressed slacks, and a white Oxford shirt. Perhaps if the crowd is really "into it," I will allow the back of the shirt to become untucked, and I may even roll up the sleeves. Just so you know, I do not like to wildly dance about the stage, preferring to minimize my body movements and hand gesticulations for maximum effect.

Do you have any small band trinkets that I may throw to the screaming female fans?

I thought your number one (1) request would be "Sweet Caroline" (Sweet Caroline). You never cease to amaze me.

Remember that time you took a picture of a hot girl but it was really just a bunch of cars in a parking lot?

There is a small stage, but the last band I saw there didn't use it, they just set up on the floor in the other room (where there is actually more room). No heat lamps in either spot that I am aware of, so you'll have to maintain your golden-brown tan on your own prior to the show.

Great song. Very well written & constructed but it takes multiple listens to understand all the lyrics the way Weller sings it...it would be interesting to hear an "Americanized" version.

Paul Weller is a genius. The Jam are in my top five (5) greatest bands of all time.

When I perform this song, I will perform it like a mirror image of the original, complete with a Cockney accent.

no, you're thinking of David Carradine, and it was a closet.

Traded Facebook messages with Slappy. Sounds like him and a couple of his cronies might be there. Some of you might even get the thrill of sharing a beer with STU GOTZ
