1) Which team has the edge at quarterback?

Bears: Rex Grossman
Colts: Peyton Manning

This is like asking if you want a Ferreri or a Yugo.
COLTS

2) Which team has the edge at running back?

Bears: Cedric Benson, Thomas Jones
Colts: Joseph Addai, Dominic Rhodes

BEARS - Benson and Jones have been running over the competition.

3) Which team has the edge at wide receiver?

Bears: Bernard Berrian, Muhsin Muhammad
Colts: Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne

COLTS - Reminds me of J.Rice and T.Owens when they where together in SF
4) Which team has the edge at tight end?

Bears: Desmond Clark
Colts: Dallas Clark

COLTS - TE kills the cover 2 and I can't but worry Dallas will have a huge day in Miami.
5) Which team has the edge on the offensive line?

Bears: Ruben Brown, Roberto Garza, Olin Kreutz, Fred Miller, John Tait
Colts: Ryan Diem, Tarik Glenn, Ryan Lilja, Jeff Saturday, Jake Scott

BEARS - Grossman wasn't sacked against the Saints. Manning was pressured all day against NE and Diem put his big fat head in the way of Mannings thumb.
6) Which team has the overall edge in offense?

Bears
Colts

COLTS - Overall edge? Their offense is in a different timezone.
7) Which team has the edge on the defensive line?

Bears: Alex Brown, Tank Johnson, Adewale Ogunleye, Ian Scott
Colts: Raheem Brock, Dwight Freeney, Robert Mathis, Anthony McFarland

BEARS if you add M.Anderson.
8) Which team has the edge at linebacker?

Bears: Lance Briggs, Hunter Hillenmeyer, Brian Urlacher
Colts: Gilbert Gardner, Cato June, Rob Morris
BEARS - This is almost as bad as asking who is better Manning or Grossman?
9) Which team has the edge at cornerback?

Bears: Ricky Manning, Jr., Charles Tillman, Nathan Vasher
Colts: Jason David, Nick Harper
BEARS - Vasher and Tillman will have to be the better CB's if the Bears have any chance at stopping the COLTS.
10) Which team has the edge at safety?

Bears: Chris Harris, Danieal Manning
Colts: Antoine Bethea, Bob Sanders
COLTS - B.Sanders is the key to that defense. D.Manning and C.Harris make way too many mistakes.
11) Which team's defense is better against the run?

Bears
Colts
BEARS - Duece had just about that many yards rushing.
12) Which team's defense is better against the pass?

Bears
Colts
BEARS - CB's need to have a big day against Manning.
13) Which team has the better overall defense?

Bears
Colts
BEARS - Another stupid question
14) Which team has the edge at kicker?

Bears: Robbie Gould
Colts: Adam Vinatieri
COLTS - Vinateri maybe the best of all time. Gould is just the best in the playoffs this year.
15) Which team has the overall edge on special teams?

Bears
Colts
BEARS - Colts ST where AWFULL against NE. Lets hope they stink it up that bad in Miami. D.Hester will have a field day.
16) Which team has the edge at head coach?

Bears: Lovie Smith
Colts: Tony Dungy
EVEN - Pick em

Dungy sure knows a lot about the Bears schemes on defense. It should be interesting to watch how the Colts come out against the Bears D.

But I have faith in Lovalicious!

Juiced, there is a big difference between the Saints pass rush and the Pats pass rush. Comparing how Grossman and Manning did vs. very different defenses isn't a valid comparison IMO. A more appropriate comparison might be how the Bears fared against the Pats pass rush vs. how the Colts fared against it. Grossman struggled vs. the Pats and the Bears scored 13 points. Manning had enough time to hit the Pats for 300+ yards. I do not think the Bears have a decided edge overall in the offensive line. Bears have important edges in other areas though.

Key matchups for me:
Bears pass rush vs. Colts offensive line: Even
Bears offensive line vs. Colts pass rush: Colts
Bears offensive line vs. Colts run defense: Bears
Bears run defense vs. Colts offensive line: Bears
Bears pass coverage vs. Colts receivers: Colts
Bears receivers vs. Colts pass coverage: Bears

Will they come out in base D or nickel all day? The Pats had success in the first half when they with 5 DBs and struggled when they to base (no idea why they changed mid game)

Well said Coast, however Grossman does not know how to avoid the sack like Manning. Grossman falls back and throws the ball away (on a good play) and Manning might roll out or step up in the pocket and complete it to his FB or TE.

The Bears pass defense vs Manning will be the biggest match up. If they can do what the Ravens and Chiefs did they will win this game. It wasn't really the pass rush that got to him it was the coverage. They confused him and that was the reason for a lot of his turnovers. The Ravens left 2 additional picks on the field.

Yup.

Also the hurry up offense will be in effect. We gotta continue to do what we've been doing on D and stop the run, and make Grossman take shots down the field.

Guys, here are the key matchups and the reason why my team may lose...

1. Colts have horrible kick coverage. Deven Hester is due for at least 1 TD in the game.
2. Colts still can't stop the run IF the team they plays stays committed to it. Lovie and Ron are more than committed. Bears will go 200 yards.
3. The Bears have linebackers that can handle our best wr in the playoffs so far, Dallas Clark.

The one thing I really like about the Colts is that I think Freeney and Mathis will get their shots in at Rex.
And obviously we have Manning and the O....

I really think the Bears will run like hell on the Colts. The key is not to fall behind by more then 7 points.

Yes, the Colts stopped Larry Johnson. Who obviously is the 2nd best back in the game. But ya know what. The Colts said "let Green beat us". Green is old and that KC passing game plan was a joke. Jamal Lewis sucks with the Ravens. And really the Pats running game sucks too. It wasn't what it was early in the season. Plus our offensive line is the best run blockers the Colts have seen. Grossman will get a couple early completions and loosen up that run game.

When that happens that will guarentee at least a close game. Then we need to be +2 in the turnover battle for the game. Bears win if we're +2.
