I'm pretty sure Tom Brady made his postseason debut before 2003. I cant remember though, maybe we can see if lipid can recall.

Brady won his first 10 playoff starts. His first was before 2003, which was the cut-off for that 5 out of 24 stat. No idea why the cut-off was 2003, I didn't research the stat myself, just read it somewhere.

Brady played in the 2002 playoffs for sure. That was the year of the "tuck rule" game. Same weekend as the Bears loss to the Eagles.

Ah, ok. I was just thinking of guys that won their first playoff start.

Drew Brees in '06?
Daunte Culpepper with the Vikes?
Vick up at Lambeau?

Nope (lost his first in '04), yep, yep. (latter two both before the 2003 date for that 5 out of 24, but still first time playoff QB's who posted wins) .

A lot of 0-1 playoff record QB's out there. The overall success rate is probably about the same as that 2003 and forward number.

Bears win the coin toss, Lovie will probably defer but I think letting Cutler get on the field asap might be the better move. Put up some early points, calm any Cutler first playoff game jitters and take the Seattle contingent in the crowd out of the game (j/k). Seahawks will likely not defer, even tho that's become the default move in the NFL.

This game really makes me nervous. I can envision the Bears not showing up for this game and getting beaten by these turds again. The Bears should win this game handily, but again it's the Bears.

Hope:

Bears 31
Birds 17

Think:
Birds 31
Bears 17

I'd like to see the Bears get out to a nice lead so I don't have to clench the
entire game, but it is playoff football. Don't think they will cover the 10pts
but will win the game.

Bears 24
C-hawks 17

The Bears aren't very good, but the Seahawks are worse.

Seattle 20

Bears 27 Seahawks 17

Most people are wondering about how well Cutler will respond to playoff pressure.

But I wonder about the defense. Their seems to be a collective amnesia about their playoff history. Their previous playoff performances have been underwhelming....Carolina putting up 29 points, a mediocre Seattle team putting up 24, the Colts moving up and down the field in the SB. Only one good game in 4 tries, that against the Saints and I think the Saints put of 350+ yards.

The Bears are healthy, at home and playing a bad Seattle team. There should be no excuse for this defense to give up more than 17 points.

I don't think Cutler is gonna matter that much, because I fully expect the Bears D to shut the Seahawks down all day.

From the looks of what is going on down in Atlanta, at least up until halftime, the Bears are one solid game of defense, and a running game, away from hosting the NFC Championship game. Who would have thunk it?

One would assume that there is no way that rookie Russell Okung will school Peppers again as he did in the Bears loss to the Hawks. That game was by far Peppers worse game of the year & I would expect Julius to take it to Okung today & perhaps knock Hasselbeck out of the game.
The playoffs is when the big money players like Cutler, Peppers, Urlacher & Tillman need to make big plays. If all 4 perform well the Bears will win in a blowout. If a couple of these guys shit the bed then it could be close.

Cutler, 250Yds, 3TD's, 1 pick
Peppers. 1 sack, a couple of hurries
Urlacher, 7 tackles
Peanut, 1 INT

Bear 31
Hawk 13

I'm scared, I don't like when everybody picks or assumes the bears will win.

If the officials in today's games are as offense-friendly as they were in yesterdays ( heard more defensive holding calls than offensive holding and defensive PI flags were thrown like confetti at a parade), expect both teams to put up a lot of points, even tho the Bears offense is ranked 30th in the league.

I'm hoping they favor us today. Bears/GB would be good, Seahawks/GB is lame.

Olsen's skill set is in the house today, but speed is not one of them.

Got to love when you find layup prop bets like Olsen o/u 28.5 yards receiving , cash that shit.

Bears kicking ass despite Cutler trying to throw bone headed pics. If he does that next week, the Packers will make him pay.

Well someone forgot to tell the Falcons and Seahawks about showing up for games this week. Cutler should put on the championship belt, to get the hype started for next week.

Damn the Seahawks are soft. Easily 20 minutes worth of injury delays.
