I wouldn't give him a job either if he doesn't care enough to have his ass in shape. It's easy shooting the ball when you don't have anyone in your face. The fact that that part of the workout went fine really isn't surprising. They didn't bring him in to see if he could shoot standing still.

What are your thoughts on Shaq? An interested and semi-in-shape Shaq could be very interesting.

Shaq would probably want to start or want starter mins. While he can still play he would be too much of a headache and hurt their style of play when he does suit up for his 50 games a year. I would pass.

That's kinda what I figured.

Yeah, that's what hurt the Suns when he was there. He completely disrupted their offense. He left, and they got better.

Shocked to hear that T-Mac was uninterested in getting into game shape to fight for a job over the off season. It sounds like he won't be coming but if he does get ready for alot of off balance contested jumpers cause he won't be able to get around anybody anymore.

How about you pay attention only to the stats he gets when he was actually playing more than 5 minutes a game.

Look over the last month.

Far better than what our 2 guards put out.

He plays on a bad team. Someone has to score points. Just because he is putting up okay numbers some games doesn't mean anything. You have to figure that there are 80-100 points that a team will score on most given nights. When your team is a pile of dogshit, you're going to be able to score some. There's no alpha dog on that team that is just going to take over a game. He's done an okay job this season, but I still wouldn't want him on this team. For any good that he might do, he would hurt the team even more. Sure, Bogans doesn't do much, but he's not going to start jacking up shots, or get burned on the defensive end time after time.

OK, I'm looking at the last month and the entire year. Last few games were pretty good. I don't see any games where he played only 5 minutes. I only see 4 or 5 games the entire year where he played less than 10 minutes

there are a lot of games of him playing 20-30 minutes and scoring 6 points. Thus..........his average of 6 points and 3 rebounds.

he's a troublemaker and a malcontent. just like iverson, he may have a little gas left in the tank but it isn't worth it. the Pistons don't have a team, don't have a leader so it's fine for him to just wander and drift around and do his thing. like DB said, SOMEONE has to score on their team. He can't guard anyone either. At least Brewer and Bogans can do that. Plus the role of the 2 guard in the Bulls offense as currently constructed is more of a spot up shooter (hence Bogans ineffectiveness). McGrady is more of a slasher. Have you even seen McGrady play this year?

I've seen multiple Pistons games...have you? You're saying words...but none of them have any meaning. Do you see how many shots he is taking? Not even that many. He is good for 12 points, 4+ rebounds, 4+ assists, a block and a steal per ~25-30 minutes played...shooting 50% on 9 shot attempts per. That's efficient. He isn't exactly putting up 15+ shots a game and hitting 38%.

His assist numbers alone when he was playing PG show that he isn't running wild in their offense. He can contribute, I don't care if your team is in last place or is contending for the three seed.

If you don't like the personality, whatever. But the Bulls would be BETTER with him as a guard on this team.

Yes I have seen multiple Pistons game. I saw them in person last week when the Bulls kicked their ass and McGrady didn't do shit. I personally watched him drift around the court, not play any defense and generally not do shit. While his team got crushed. Not sure about his assist numbers either, from what I see he had 3 good games the entire year as far as that's concerned. Again, he's averaging like 2.5 assists. It's called an average for a reason. We've already gone over the minutes argument.

I would rather have Ronnie Brewer still. Not joking. More to basketball than scoring. Although FWIW I am enjoying the budding Bagels/IMU feud.

I do have a question though. Why are all of you watching so many Pistons games? They are awful.

First of all, his assists numbers will be higher as a PG than at the two. Second of all, you can't say his assist numbers when he played 8 minutes in a game are of equal weight to his assist numbers where he played 35 minutes.

Look at his stats on basketball reference 'Per 36 Minutes Played'...do those seem like bad numbers to you? And YES, those factor in the bad games he had early on.

What would Rose's stats be if he played on average 15 minutes a game for the first month and a half of the season?

This is why I'm looking at the last 30 days, because he has played 28 mpg in that stretch.

Were you a fan of Ron Mercer too?

Well see.....Rose plays 35-40 minutes+ per game BECAUSE HE'S GOOD. He wouldn't be playing 15 minutes a game because he's you know, valuable to his team

Tracy McGrady is finally starting to get time on the Pistons......shouldn't that be a clue to you? I doubt he was playing PG because they're so enamored with his PG skills....it's because they didn't have anyone else and were forced to

Because I think he's more trouble than he's worth? He's below average defensively and his offensive game doesn't really fit what the Bulls need right now. He's not a spot up shooter. we've gone over the minutes thing, the per 48 minutes and all that shit but the fact is if he were on the Bulls he would not be playing 30-35 minutes, I would guess more like 18-20. So he'd probably be averaging the same as he is now. do you really think having him on the team would result in more wins? I don't. I think you could argue that it would be a marginal improvement but based on his history of a) being a bitch, b) not doing anything in the playoffs, c) injuries and d) just being old, I don't think it would be worth it.

I don't disagree with you at all. I wouldn't mind having him if they got him, but I think a lot of people look at Bogans in the starting lineup and panic. The truth of the matter is, scoring really hasn't been the Bulls' issue. They don't have problems putting points on the board. Their team defense is their issue. In situations when they need a key stop, they haven't proven they can get one.

My issue with Bogans isn't that he can't score (although it's annoying). It's moreso that he can't stay in front of anybody.

When the 93-94 Bulls (my favorite team of all time) lost Jordan, they still won 55 games despite losing Mike's 30 ppg. Why? Because Pete Myers used to guard the hell out of the opponent.

that sums it up. But he can spot up and shoot. If he played with any intensity at all, I'd like him. He plays like he's trying to avoid injury. Or trying. He kept deferring to Tayshon Prince too.
