OK, enough time has passed and time to express the real Cub fans thoughts! I am not talking about the unemployed goofs, or the alleged die hards who think just because the Cubs acquire someone his 3.78 ERA isn't that bad anymore. I am talking about the people who grew up watching every Cub game and judge this team in relation to other teams that should be spending over $100 mill each year!

Ronnie may have been a great guy but there was no more of an unluckier person around! As a leader of the 1969 Cubs, could we really ask for more of an unlucky guy? Oh yeah, I remember seeing a black cat as well.

Ronnie could be the unluckiest guy to never get into the HOF?

Having Three Stooges Syndrome might have been the only thing that he lucked out on.

He was even the first guy to enact the 5/10 rule limiting the Cubs to only be able to trade him to the Sox.

Sure, when death stares you in face, you start being a better person, which has merits as well.

Ron Santo was the unluckiest guy ever, so maybe this is really year 1.....try it again...

The run to the NLCS against the Marlins happened when Ron was out of the booth sick, and Stoney called the games with Pat Hughes.

Since Ron came back...no more luck in the post season...

So what part of the first 60 years of the Cubs WS title drought did Ron have to do with? Are you saying the "bad" luck was about to run out and he gave a lifetime supply of it??

Once ASF Bob gets off ground after falling out of his chair laughing, it will be great to hear his response to this nonsense.

Hey BigFan,

I began as a Cub fan in 1967 when I was 10. From 67 to 73,the Cubs were one of the better teams in MLB,but of course won nothing. CLH,just because history happened before you were born does not mean it did not count. I remember crying during the '69 Cub-Mets game when Don Young lost those 2 flyballs. I have seen a lot of heartbreaking baseball by this organization over the years. I'm convinced that 2011 is the year. Cubs win it all, then the world ends. This will make the Cubs The Final Champion. :drunken:

and with the exception of the teams name, wwhat has been the constant? Santo

you could say Ernie and Billy, but they seem to have some personal luck. Both in the HOF, statues....alive...etc. Never said he was a bad guy, but from many accounts, he wasn't the ncest guy during his playing years.

the number one rule of fight club is you don't talk about fight club.

Wait and see what happens...

You don't think he was cremated with his ashes spread across the field to ensure he is always part of the Cubs?

When Frank is the voice of reason in the Cubs section I just don't know what to believe anymore
