Perhaps I should have made things more clear. Option A is literally off the table.

You actually had the options sitting on a table?

Really doesn't make things more clear.

Are options B and C literally off the table, too?

I literally don't understand why you didn't just say, "They didn't choose any of the options."

We didn't choose to use Option A, which was to pick a player that will be exclusive for Team Shake That. We had until 9:00 PM last night to pick one, but we didn't want to. We decided to use Option B or C. Were the rules of the challenge that difficult to comprehend?

The only option that had to be chosen by last night was option A. Since we didn't email Newp saying we wanted option A that means we are no longer allowed to choose that option. That means we must choose either B or C, but with those two we only need to declare our choice when we submit our challenge picks.

Capiche?

Entries are here:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AvIBEU8ruyXXdG5nSG5FVUtyWnM0MDhYOTRtcTd5Znc&hl=en&output=html

6:34 pm -- Edited spreadsheet and modified contest to be a single elimination due to contest construction error.

7:13 pm -- Updated with halftime scores. Shake That is leading (would even be leading without the bonus pts) with 55.5 (41.5 w/o), then Aromashodu has 30 points, then Anti-ISOPians with 29.5, and trailing at halftime are the Monkeys with 27.5

9:42 pm -- Final update. Shake That wins with 103.5 points (82.5 w/o bonus.) Good work, team! In second are the Anti-ISOPians with 68.5 -- maybe basketball is their true calling for these contests. Right on their heels finishing in third is Team Aromashodu with 67.5, and bringing up the rear are the Scorehead Monkeys.

Congratulations to Shake That for another win.

If Boozer gets his averages that's a 38.5 point advantage.

8)

Now people should understand why we didn't take the exclusive player with option A.

Crap, I meant to write that as steals or blocks... Would not intentionally give a team that big of an advantage... I shall endeavor to do a better job of proofreading going forward.

I'm officially making this a single player elimination to minimize the impact of having such a big advantage to one team. We'll do the two player on Sunday.

Hey Newp, if SHAKE THAT ends up winning and would've won even without the bonus can we stick with a double elimination since the technical error would not have mattered?

 You may not have chosen that option if it wasn't basically a free win. I doubt you would have chosen Hibbert over Boozer.

Shake That wins with 103.5 points (82.5 w/o bonus.) Good work, team! In second are the Anti-ISOPians with 68.5 -- maybe basketball is their true calling for these contests. Right on their heels finishing in third is Team Aromashodu with 67.5, and bringing up the rear are the Scorehead Monkeys with 52.5. They didn't get much help in the big hit categories of three pointers and personal fouls, and that appeared to be the main problem for their team.

Even though Shake That would have won with their selections without a sixth man, I'm going to keep it a single elimination contest since that could have affected who they chose at the original five positions. That being said, Monkeys need to vote to send someone home. Send your vote to CSFMBSurvivor@gmail.com by 7pm on Saturday. Please send your nick as well so I know who has voted and who hasn't. If you have a hidden idol, you need to play it by 9pm on Saturday.

Sunday's challenge to follow -- it is football related, and I promise to proof read it three times before I post it! :)

Challenge #4 -- Jan 16, 2011

This time around, we're going to have another fantasy football drafting contest, but we'll focus on single defensive players. You can draft either a 4-3 or 3-4 defense. The 4-3 requires 4 DLs, 3 LBs, and 4 DBs. The 3-4 requires 3 DLs, 4 LBs and 4 DBs. You have $100 to spend on your team. You need to fill every position, but you do not need to spend all of your money. You must draft your team from only the players listed below (I make no guarantee that they will play this weekend, so make sure you do your research!) Points will be awarded based upon the results posted at NFL.com and will be final when I post them to the thread.

Players will get 1 point per tackle, 0.5 point per assist, 4 points per sack, 6 points per interception, 4 points per forced fumble or fumble recovery, and 10 points for any TD scored.

Shake That, you have an advantage option to choose:
  • Option A: Big spender. You can increase your draft cap to $105.
  • Option B: Points for cash. Get an automatic 5 point addition to your total, but the other teams' draft cap moves to $110. Yours remains $100. To use this option, you must post in the thread that you will be using this by 7pm on Saturday. I will literally remove it from my table of Options (picture to be posted as soon as I get my camera fixed.)
  • Option C: Smear job. Submit a defensive player's name along with your entry. That player's total points will be cut in half should he be used on any team's entry, including your own. You do not need to reveal what player you choose, or that you are using this option.

Tiebreaker #1 - Total FGs in the Patriots/Jets game
Tiebreaker #2 - Tom Brady's QB rating for Sunday's game

Entries are due by Sunday at 11 AM. This will be a double elimination. Something I should have addressed earlier, but could become an issue with early deadlines is what happens if the captain gets voted off. When the new captain is chosen, I'll PM him/her with a message indicating that no submission was made, or if one was made, I will forward the submission. The submission will be valid unless the new captain wants to change something. Some options would not be changeable if they include some sort of deadline (such as Option B in this example.)

And the votes are in. Two votes to be exact. And they are both for Northside Dan. There was one late vote that was discarded, and four missing votes. Northside Dan is the third player eliminated from the contest. Five members of the Scorehead Monkeys have picked up a strike -- remember, three strikes will DQ you from the game.

I've got one entry in for tomorrow... as a reminder, picks are due by 11 AM tomorrow so even if you just send in a placeholder, at least you'll go in with something. During the challenges, you can always submit a revised entry up until the deadline. For the voting, only your first vote counts. Play it smart and get your entry in when you can.

All the picks are in. I don't know if I will be around during the game to update, so I am making this publicly editable in case someone feels like doing the work during the game. :) I'll be doing an official count tonight.

http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key= ... y=CO-c9oIM

Shake That has invoked the Smear Job on Lance Briggs. Luckily for them, each of the three other teams did select Briggs to their team. Briggs will only get half points for those teams today.

A reminder this is a double elimination! Top two teams are safe, and bottom two teams will need to vote someone out of the game.
