This topic has been talked about on every radio station and every sports show on cable. My opinion is this, if Cutler takes the Bears to the Superbowl and wins it and also makes the Bears a contender every season, he can do the following:

1. After every play he can shoot the bird to the crowd.
2. After every play, punch the nearest Ref in the face.
3. Answer every stupid media question with, "suck it".
4. Have "jerkface" 24-7.

Basically I don't care how he acts, looks, answers the media, diplays body language, or is a "leader". If he wins games and makes the Bears good to great, who gives a fuck? Is Tom Brady that much more gracious or professional than Cutler? I don't think so. He's just good looking and has a hot wife.

Today's article in the Tribune is just lazy journalism.

The Jay Cutler "attitude issue" is the most overblown story in the Chicago media, right next the debate a few years ago about Soriano batting leadoff (oh the horror).

When they have nothing else to write about, the writers/media just jump back on this topic, a topic which seems to be created by the media and nothing else.

I don't hear Jay ripping his teammates. He has been sacked 52 times this season. In Denver,he was sacked 53 in 3 seasons!

In Sundays game,I just want to see Jay play smart football & run if he see's any kind of opening. It beats taking a sack. As far as his personality, who gives a flying rats ass?

Who do you take a 10 hour car ride with, Cutler, or AJ Pierzynski?

Discuss.

I have watched a bunch of Jay Cutler Mic'd up sessions and it sure doesn't seem he has any problems with his teammates! He actually appears to get along with them much better than expected.

Do I think it would smarter and easier for him to be Mr. Happy to the media. Sure it would, but the fact he doesn't care about them is being taken out on him by everyone in the media.

Well, according to Terry and "His Guy", everyone in the organization and on the team think Cutler is an asshole, lacks work ethic, hates to practice, is an asswipe, has no friends on the team, eats babies, purposely tanks games, purposely throws INT's and bets against the Bears with his bookie.

Can Terry prove any of these things?

I'm getting tired of hearing about Cutler's attitude and jerkface and whatnot.
Just win and don't make dumb throws......period. Pretty simple.

I met one who did. One time at Rainbo Club @ division/damen (the name = !! however there's enough phallusworthy quasi/hipster girls around to warrant the trip... plus $2 PBRs in that area = hey lance, let's go!)

Anyways, she was a blonde ~25-30 year old specimen of female who registered as a solid 7 on the charts. She saw my Bourbonnais-issue navy blue 13 ("B") hat and goes "JAY CUTLER!!! JAY CUTLER!!! JAY CUTLER IS A burrito!!!" as I walked by. Intrigued, I asked her as to the basis of her theory, and she regaled me with the following story:

Being from Denver, she was familiar with the hit-or-miss tendencies of the kid from Santa Claus. She had moved out here a few months before Jay was traded, which she viewed as a fait accompli. Neglecting to mention how, she managed to track him down to a downtown club and caught him as he was in the process of exiting said establishment. Determined to garner his attention, she bellowed "JAYYYYY!!!! JAY!!! I'M FROM DENVER!"

At this point, I reckon he was thinking something akin to "Good for you."

She immediately ramped up her efforts and proceeded to inform him that she had been a fan since her Denver days and that she desired to hang out with him, where a happy ending was guaranteed. Jay was unmoved. In a last ditch effort to procure an infusion of celebrity penis, she grabbed his hands and put them on her ~hearty-B/C cup titties and tactfully conveyed the message that sex was indeed guaranteed that evening. Jay, no doubt ingratiated to the wonderful world of hosebags and their innate desperation, politely declined her advances.

She was left reeling and seething and stomping and bitching, I bet. The only person who I felt sorry for in the whole situation was her boyfriend, who had been buying drinks and noticed his conquest conversing with me, thus imploring him to bee-line over to us in order to ensure that I wasn't about to drop magical game without any sort of resistance. The look on his face when he realized that his girl was a hosebag who would ditch him in a split second for any sort of celebrity dick was truly priceless.

Jay Cutler is a good teammate and good to the fans at personal appearances. I've been to several. He arrives early and stays late and actually is friendly.

But he could be a jerk and I wouldn't care as long as he doesn't actually hurt people.

I wonder if Terry's guy is the same guy who called and left a message on his answering machine about the trade. I have a bridge in Florida for anyone who believes that happened.

So Cutler has the personality of a tree trunk. So does Urlacher. Actually I'm not being fair TO TREE TRUNKS!

This is the same media that calls Vick's return inspiring. Maybe Cutler should go out and murder some dogs and they'll like him.

Guys this is the same media that reminisces about the 90s Cubs and whines that the Cubs in the last few years aren't as media friendly.

Let's see the 90s Cubs had one playoff team and only 2 other seasons over 500.

The 00s Cubs had 3 playoff teams and 3 other seasons over 500. I'll take the 00s Cubs thank you.

And the same media that sucked Grace's dick for over a decade because he sucked theirs while bashing Thomas.

Every Cub fan with a brain would have traded Grace for Thomas in a second. But the media wouldn't have,

This post is strange.

Cutler is not a guy you really want to root for. I don't think there were many Bears fans on here saying "I really like Jay Cutler" while he was in Denver. There were even fewer who said "I really like Jay Cutler as he's acting like a baby and not answering the calls of the owner because they considered getting Matt Cassel(who had a better season than Cutler this year too, I guess we'll see in the playoffs)".
He is a jerk. He is unlikable. These rumors have been around since his first day in Denver. It's not like this was just made up. You can tell he is. The reason that none of the players or anyone says differently is because Cutler runs the organization. Unless you are a pro bowl caliber player like Urlacher you are going to lose that battle. It's best to simply go about doing your business.

Now obviously, you want players who wear your favorite teams colors to do well. I couldn't stand Kobe Bryant for a long time but the moment he became a Chicago Bull I would have hoped he dominated the league. Those two things are easily separated. My rooting for the Bears supersedes any like or dislike of any player. So yes, if the Bears win the Super Bowl this year no one will care that Cutler is a jerk, and he'll still be a jerk, and in general unlikeable. The Bears will have won the Super Bowl and that is awesome. If he plays well, he gets credit for that just like Grossman would have gotten credit if he hadn't lost us the Super Bowl.

By the way, Philip Rivers is a bigger jerk than Cutler and even more unlikeable. If I was a Charger fan I'd be rooting for him though.

How many of Cutler's former teamates in Denver have gone on record to say Cutler is a jerk? I can't think of any.

Cutler may be a little shy, aloof and maybe early in his career a little immature but i don't think he is a jerk. Wasn't it just a couple years ago that Urlacher basically told the media to f*** off with his no comment, look at my website for answers. Has Cutler done anything remotely like that? But yet Cutler has an attitude problem.

Has Cutler thrown his offensive line under the bus like Peyton Manning did a few years ago? Or does he point at the opposing sideline like Brady has been accused by the Jets?

Unless your a murderer, rapist or anything like that, if you play for the Bears I will root for you. I don't care if a player is outgoing, glib or if he wears lampshades over his head at parties and he friendly with the media. I don't know any of the Bear players so to make value judgements on a media observations seem to be problematic....O.J. simpson anybody?

About the same amount who defended him during the whole thing. It's rare for any player to call out another in Cutler's situation because you don't know if one day you will be a teammate of his again. I don't think it's proof either way. I don't see Eddie Royal calling him out as if Royal got cut the Bears could have been an option.

Urlacher is a jerk too. I don't particularly like rooting for him as a person but he's also been a near hall of fame talent for the Bears and I'm grateful for that. If Urlacher was on the Browns I don't think I'd have a favorable opinion of him either.

Yes, along with the receivers on the first question. Yes on the second question in Denver against San Diego.

That's fine. I root for Cutler too. I just don't ignore it when I think someone is unlikeable just because they happen to be on a team I want to win.

Cromartie doesn't seem to have a problem calling out Brady, if Cutler was as big a jerk as some people say, i am sure there would be a few players talking.

You can like whoever you want for whatever reasons you wish. If someone does not like Cutler fine. But Briggs drove drunk, crashed his BMW and then took off from the crash site. Has Cutler done something like this? I don't recall Cutler breaking someone's jaw, like Kruetz did to Fred Miller. What do you feel about these two guys?

How about philanderers or wife beaters? Are these people jerks too?

If you don't like Cutler because he comes off stand offish in news conferences or had a falling out with Denver management fine. But if you were to hold the same standards to every athlete, you might have a long list of jerks.

I am also lumping Rick Morrissey into this lazy journalism too.

I don't recall Cutler pointing to the Chargers sideline in that game. I do remember Rivers being an asshat along with others waving bye-bye to Cutler while he was on the field. Rivers was called out for that by the commentators and later that night, ESPN.

What receivers did Cutler call out? Broncos or Bears?

Let's not forget here that Brick has stayed in the same hall as some future pro football players, he knows a jerk when he sees it.

The Jets are doing it to try and get in the Patriots heads. Remember when the Minnesota WR called out Cutler too and screwed over Urlacher? It's the same thing.

I don't find Briggs or Kruetz likeable. Kruetz probably moreso than anyone even with his Kyle Orton love. I believe last year I was part of a thread stating how unlikeable most of the Bears players are. That didn't change when they won a bunch this year.

Philanderers no unless you go all Big Ben on it. Wife beaters yes.

Well, I don't know if he specifically did that. There was a ton of back and forth going on between them. My point is that the current Jets-Patriots stuff is no different than the Denver-San Diego stuff. http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2008/12/30/jay-cutler-does-not-think-the-chargers-are-for-real-calls-out/

I don't feel like looking it up but when asked about the interceptions last year Cutler responded something like "unless you are in the film room you don't know who was actually at fault for those picks". Take that how you will.
