i'm glad to say that the jazz east didn't mimic their western counterparts by once again playing down to the level of scrub teams on the road.

tho not quite at the level of the phoenix suns, what the fuck are the pacers trying to do? i'm thinking they'd like to stay competitive and white enough to grind their way to a non-worst-3 record in the league for a few years and then hope that david stern tosses the franchise a bone in the lottery if the ticket sales get pathetic enough.

i mean seriously, look at that team... what the fuck are they doing? danny granger is going to eventually get traded to some middling team who thinks that adding a "legitimate scorer" like him will push them towards the top (but not over it) and make them competitive in the playoffs... but in the end, he'll be just like kevin martin, who seems to show up for a few quarters a week. when i saw rocket/bulls back in december i remember martin coming in during the third, scoring ~12-14 points within a five minute span, then being benched down the stretch and in overtime as he wasn't truly necessary for the whole "winning the game part"

in the process, granger will make ~$75-100mil and have plenty of lengendary stories at strip clubs, so god bless him, but he ain't gonna ever win shit unless some already-great team takes him in and uses his one dimension for the powers of good.
