Yeah, its tough convincing myself watching HOF QB play my whole life and seeing two SB wins is better than watching Cade McNown, Marc Trestman, Matt Nagy, etc
Why is it that when faced with disappointment people feel the need to lash out against others so fiercely?
Thats lashing out fiercely? Your skin has thinned quite a bit over the years. This is just a GB fan and a Bears fan discussing their respective teams.
My thin skin? Dude read what you wrote. Someone makes a obvious joke about your team and you start with the your team sucks worse bro posts. Anyhoodles Rodgers is gay.
There is a certain amount of emotional and intellectual dishonesty at work in the collective psyche of Packer fans on this board.
Most Bears fans have no problem admitting that the mid-80s Bears, despite their savage greatness, were a disappointment. We were promised a dynasty but ultimately only received one fabulous season and a few other very good ones. That's...disappointing.
To say that the Packers haven't also been disappointing over the past 30 years--a period in which they were first led by a top-10 all-time QB and then a top-2 all-time QB but only claimed two total Super Bowls--is patently ridiculous. For starters, everybody knows they should've beaten Denver in that second Super Bowl, and the NFC championship game collapse against Seattle in 2014 was a meltdown of epic proportions. There are plenty of other examples of their disappointing play, of course, but most of the Packers fans around here will never admit it. Maybe the wounds are still too raw for them. From that perspective, all of their bluster here becomes amusing since it is obviously motivated more by insecurity than it is by confidence. Packer fans try to project the image that they're King Mufasa, but in reality they're much closer to being the Cowardly Lion. They are lying to themselves and therefore must also lie to us.
Thats amusing. No, it comes down to the very simple fact that it will never stop being funny to us that Bears fans think they have any ammo whatsoever to talk shit. Your team is so bad I actively root for them to be better just so the “rivalry” is at least somewhat of a rivalry.
That you all imagined we were some dynasty in the making this whole time just makes it funnier.
