Rodgers gets disrespected a lot. His accomplishments downplayed because he's a dreaded independent thinking, opinionated white guy.

Why is it that when faced with disappointment people feel the need to lash out against others so fiercely?

Thats lashing out fiercely? Your skin has thinned quite a bit over the years. This is just a GB fan and a Bears fan discussing their respective teams.

My thin skin? Dude read what you wrote. Someone makes a obvious joke about your team and you start with the your team sucks worse bro posts. Anyhoodles Rodgers is gay.

There is a certain amount of emotional and intellectual dishonesty at work in the collective psyche of Packer fans on this board.

Most Bears fans have no problem admitting that the mid-80s Bears, despite their savage greatness, were a disappointment. We were promised a dynasty but ultimately only received one fabulous season and a few other very good ones. That's...disappointing.

To say that the Packers haven't also been disappointing over the past 30 years--a period in which they were first led by a top-10 all-time QB and then a top-2 all-time QB but only claimed two total Super Bowls--is patently ridiculous. For starters, everybody knows they should've beaten Denver in that second Super Bowl, and the NFC championship game collapse against Seattle in 2014 was a meltdown of epic proportions. There are plenty of other examples of their disappointing play, of course, but most of the Packers fans around here will never admit it. Maybe the wounds are still too raw for them. From that perspective, all of their bluster here becomes amusing since it is obviously motivated more by insecurity than it is by confidence. Packer fans try to project the image that they're King Mufasa, but in reality they're much closer to being the Cowardly Lion. They are lying to themselves and therefore must also lie to us.

Thats amusing. No, it comes down to the very simple fact that it will never stop being funny to us that Bears fans think they have any ammo whatsoever to talk shit. Your team is so bad I actively root for them to be better just so the “rivalry” is at least somewhat of a rivalry.

That you all imagined we were some dynasty in the making this whole time just makes it funnier.

I agree. The Packers' failures are funny.

Sounds like we are both happy with our respective fandoms then. Glad there is at least something for you to look forward to during the NFL season

It shouldn't be quite so difficult if you have the most talented quarterback in NFL history on your roster.

It still is. This isn’t the NBA.

Ask Marino, Brees, Russ Wilson, etc, etc, etc

Edit: And GB never had Brady on their roster

I don't look forward to it, but it's still funny. The Packers should win the Super Bowl this year, which will be pretty depressing for me. It's beginning to look like they would really have to choke to mess this one up.

None of the quarterbacks you mentioned are as talented as Rodgers.

That doesn’t seem to be the consensus opinion at all. They’re currently 3rd in Super Bowl Champion odds.

Anyone who’s been paying attention at all this year agrees its as wide open as its been in awhile. But i do agree GB is the best team in the league currently. The gap between them and the other top 4-5 teams is very small though. Getting some of our All Pros back we’ve been missing all year should help hopefully

If you dont think Brady is as talented (more) than Rodgers then I don’t think you understand the sport we are discussing

Of the four good teams in the NFC, the Cardinals aren't quite ready, the Bucs don't seem to be playing with an edge and may be tired, and the Rams, as you have said, can't win because they have a Jared Goff simulation playing QB. That leaves the Packers, who really should have won it all last year anyway and are better this year.

The AFC isn't that strong, even with the Chiefs' chimerical resurgence.

The Chiefs are the Chiefs. They’re going to be tough to beat. The Bucs looks every bit as good as last year, and they have Brady. We beat the Cardinals without our entire WR corps on the road, and we kicked the shit out of the Rams already, so I like our chances against them.

You like to joke on my Stafford/Goff take but this Rams team sure doesn’t look any different than the last couple years. Am I supposed to be afraid of a 10+ year veteran QB who has never won a playoff game in his career? Please

It should be highlighted that there are MANY people who disliked him both before & after his embarrassing vaccine boner.

Like me. And his family.

Did you guys know that Rodger's family hates him?
I wonder why that is. I also wonder why nobody talks about it.

Frankly I'm of the opinion that his family is by and large a big steaming pile of shit looking for an unearned payday.

This thread is Ground Zero for Packer fan mass hallucination.

Packer Disappointment Denialism (PDD) is a real and dangerous phenomenon, friends.
