These are all business's. They advertise because they want to increase revenue at their business. If they could get a return on their ad they'll advertise with anybody.
Like I said. There are plenty of radio shows and news broadcasts. They all have commercials. .
There used to be an ad buyer on Crow_On that said that they generally buy in blocks of time across a spread of stations, and as such they weren't too aware of who the show hosts are. What they're mostly concerned about is the ratings, and placing 'x' ads during the morning where ratings 'y' is achieved.
To an extent I imagine that's true, especially for national ad buyers. For local people like the Little Guys, I'm sure they know which hosts bring in which ratings. But even then, they're shopping ratings versus demographics versus rate sheets -- which spread of stations at which time slots gives them the biggest bang.
The point is, buyers don't ask for the time slot where Mike North has a show; they ask for the morning drive-in slot. Along those lines, Jesse Rogers could do the show instead, assuming the "morning drive-in slot's" ratings are maintained.
