If that was the case Mike, did you see Jacque make two more errors than assists in the outfield in 2006? Did you see him struggle at the plate for the first couple of months this season?

If the Cubs are entrusting the position onto Felix Pie, I think you can make a logical argument that they should have kept Jones. Pie hasn't shown he can hit at the major league level. I don't have an issue with turning the over to Pie as you need younger players to balance the payroll, but keeping Jones around (for the 1 year left) would have made sense, and I still think they need to bring in some sort of protection in case he struggles.
