Typical of ESPN actually.
I'm in the minority and not the target audience, fine. I listened for 4 minutes in the car today and Speigel says damn. Then I hear "Mom that guy on the radio said damn!" I say "Yes he did" and get the response "he shouldn't say that, that's a bad word."
So I flipped to W&S. He used it twice in about 20 minutes the other day and I flipped then too.
I can swear a blue streak to make a truck driver blush but I don't speak like that around everybody. I can and have also explained to my kids why certain words get said by certain people at certain times, myself using them included. I also think if you use damn a lot it loses it's impact. Then he is saying it just to say it and sounds...gameshowy/pontificy.
They don't have to be all things to all people and should do the show they want. Mac & Matt both have successful radio careers, are dedicated to their job, enjoy it, and are very likeable hosts. Some of the rules at ESPN weren't all bad and probably helped to make MJH as successful as it was and keep in mind there is a very good show on opposite of them.
