Fine, but keep it to yourself or talk about it with your family and friends off-air, don't make it a fixture of your job performance with your new employer. Despite the small number of ALSers here who hang on your every word and hope to get a little drop of your ass-juice on their tongues as it drips down over their feeding trough, who the fuck else who turns into a sports talk station cares about your petty little personal shit?

God, you are pathetic. The sooner you go away, the better Chicago radio will be.

Yeah, they paid me well... the result of taking the AM1000 frequency off of life support. When I got there, ESPN was billing about $4 million a year in advertising dollars. In three years, they were billing about $15 million. It's accurate to say there were tremendous upsides for both parties.

Ever been suspended from your job and not have a boss go to bat for you? Try to make your life uncomfortable by not returning your phone calls and making you sweat through a holiday not knowing if you had a job or not?

If you were a productive employee and also provided a strong leadership model.... then got fired.... are you going to tell me you wouldn't love sticking it up that place's ass by kicking their ass with their direct competition?

Let me say it again: I'm grateful for the eight years at ESPN. They paid me well and gave me a lot of power. But Jim Pastor and Justin Craig were overmatched by the positions they held and their records prove it. Pastor's signature included these key moves: 1) losing the White Sox the year following their World Series. 2) The Salisbury/Rosenbloom disaster. 3) Breaking up MJH, the show with the most drive time ratings dominance (six No.1 finishes) than any other in this town.

Don't just take my word for it. Ask any -- and I mean any -- ESPN employee about Pastor and Craig and they will paint a picture of two of the most inept, impersonable, disagreeable sacks of shit they've ever worked for.

If I'm a little giddy over seeing them dive to the bottom.... forgive me. Paybacks are fun. I hope you have the opportunity to experience it some day. It's quite rewarding. Pastor and Craig deserve every bad word they get. They proved they couldn't handle prosperity. They had the Score on the ropes and let 'em up. These are good times.

I guess this pretty much explains way you are on a one recession renewal and all the others are getting 3 year extensions. You are sounding like a little girl and really aren't very important because you are just a LAZY hillbilly with the big ego and big mouth.

Good to see you don't listen. So why do you listen? I am asking it is a real question.

I ended up listening to North many times because of all the time I listened to BB and the radio was just on the Score. North was so bad though I did make a big switch to ESPN. So, Pappy, why listen?

ESPN didn't 'choose Harry over Mac'. They chose profits over programming, as most radio stations are doing nowadays.

More than likely Pastor and the ESPN accountants preferred a 'safer, less controversial show - not to mention a 'cheaper' show'.

Perhaps the brainiacs at ESPN1000 didn't think WSCR would hire Mac back, as thing didn't end to smoothly the last time he was 'kickin ass and taking names' for them.

All's well that ends well I guess. They got a less controversial show with CJ&H vs. MJ&H, pocketed plenty of profit dollars, and now are feeling the fallout of being penny wise and dollar foolish.

So, Jim Pastor.... Christian Bale said it best - GOOD FOR YOU!

and so much more: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrvMTv_r8sA

Eddie, the answer to your question lies in the movie Howard Stern's Private Parts. There is a scene when the rating numbers come in and Howards jumped up. For the people who said they hate the show, when asked why they listen, their answer was "We want to know what he's going to say next".

Listening because you like the station, but dont love Mac's show is an acceptable response. I did it with North.

You know your post might carry some weight if it were addressed correctly. This has nothing to do with something Mac said on the air, it has to do with him making a fucking post here gloating about this awesome ratings victory and the dismissal of his former boss. You like listening to his shit on the air ripping ESPN, fine have at it. Some people dont. For you to say fuck those people because they are ruining your fun is asinine. Or for people to have an opinion contrary to yours is wrong. Thats why there's a board for you to express your views, and for others to agree or dispute them. Doesnt make them wrong or you right or vice-versa. He didnt seem to have a problem cashing ESPN checks for a lot of years , if it was such a hell hole maybe he shouldve quit long before he was shown the door ( with a nice long paid vacation at the end mind you). When he was at ESPN, the guys at the Score were dickheads , etc. Now he's back and the guys at ESPN are assholes. Little windsocky dontcha think? again, my opinion. You can agree or disagree, but you can fuck off straight to Highland if you think I can't have a negative opinion about him .

Oh please, tell us more....

I don't know if this is the holiday Mac was sweating if he still had a job, but basically a year into their show, Harry says he's 100% Cubs all the time, Harry says in 2000 he was rooting for the White Sox over the Cubs in their interleague series and Mac said he had no credability and that set it off. Harry was saying all the guys he made like Brandmeir and Mac said laughing that you made Brandmeir, Mac was killing Harry's mic so you couldn't hear him. Mac never apologized on the air, but after it Mac said Harry mistook him and they hashed it out.

If you could ever find the tape it was the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend 2002.

Look here, I didn't say you can't have a negative opinion, and if you read more carefully I included Mac's posting (Why do these guy claim to hate Mac and his show but seem to always know what's going on on his show and in this forum?) in my comment. Maybe forum was the wrong wording but I meant this message board. I never said having an opinion different from mine is wrong either; maybe you need hooked on phonics because you argument would be with MOFO. MOFO is the guy that called Mac out for not talking the high road. I argued that Mac has the right to handle his situation however he wants. I listened to Mac on ESPN for years and never heard him rip the score. He always seemed nostalgic for his Belmont Ave. days. He took joy in beating them and for letting North make a bonehead programming decision based on nothing. So before you rip me maybe you should read back a bit. I don't understand people who watch, read or listen to things when they know ahead of time they're going to hear something to piss them off. Hey live how you want to live but I'd think you'd want to find something you enjoyed. Unless you enjoy being pissed off then that's just strange.

Is there some kind of problem with the quote function? It's kind of difficult to follow who is saying what here.

Anyway, I hardly think Mac needs anyone to stick up for him. And I don't believe he offers "Caller of the Show" prizes either here or on the radio. He knows if he posts some boastful shit here he's gonna take some heat. He doesn't give a fuck.

Finally, the very reason I listen to sports radio is to get myself agitated. I'm sure I'm not alone in this. That's why I miss Mike North. You may think it's odd to listen to something that's going to boil your blood. Well, I don't think that's nearly as odd as listening to goofs like Boers, bernstein, North, Mac, etc. for their opinions on anything when none of them are very well educated on sports and only bernstein might be called educated in general.

There's goofy hosts that stir up the shit and then there's complete fucking idiots. North was the latter and that's why he was unlistenable IMO. The guy I kind of miss is Murph. He did some dumb shit also, but alot of his stuff was good, especially Cubs talk.

That's pretty standard in corporations, isn't it? Dickbag manager hated by all his people, but kisses ass to the higher ups gets "promoted" to another location just so the higher ups don't have to hear the bitching anymore.

Dickbag is a little harsh. "Penis Pouch" is probably more acceptable.

BTW Eaglo Jeff, you should change your radio name to Dick Bag. That would be cool.

I have been beating the Murph drum around here for awhile now. Would be nice to actually be able to listen to The Score past 6pm on a weekday but between White Sox games, LoHo, and the the Bears hazing ritual with the sports whisperer I usually just put on tunes.

Justin Craig sucks. As soon as he got there, ESPN 1000 got worse and worse and worse. And yet, ESPN rewards him by setting him up at the #1 market.

Mac, I totally get where you're coming from and you have an appropriate forum to express your thoughts on it.
