that is because he aims to please the lowest common denominator. its very easy to get ratings when your show is "hey, if you call in, you get on the air in a big market! and no matter how retarded whatever you say is, i'll just go 'hmm' 'yeah' 'hmm' 'mmhmm' 'yeah' 'right' 'eh' on top of your talking and then close with the popular 'i like your angle!' and go to the next dimwit who somehow managed to learn how to use a phone..."
on top of all that, the zany sound effects, the "things were much better in the old days" crap...the whole schtick...its lame and a weak attempt at masking the fact that his show has nothing to offer of substance
