Did anyone else here the 10 hour of Bruce Levine and Brian Dahlgen (sp?) and the supposed baseball expert Jimmy Piersall??? Why Jimmy gets any airtime is simply beyond me. Jimmy's expert analysis today consisted of him stating that the Cubs needed more starting pitching (true enough) but then he goes on to say that the Cubs should start Michael Wuertz or "the tall kid from the bullpen" (neither Bruce or Brian even tried to speculate who that was/is). He dismissed both Rich Hill and Angel Guzman with a dismissive "they can't pitch".

What was even worse was that Bruce made reference to Jimmy getting his own show starting in April.....

Thankfully, XM Radio To Go is now an option on Saturday morning.....

Maybe someone can take Jimmy Piersall in the MJH dead pool. There's a spot that needs to be filled now.

As I've stated before, Jimmy is one of my all time favorites. However, several years ago he became Junior Soprano. Jimmy, take your Thorazine, and listen to the nice Jamaican nurse, and put down the mic.

And then let's send Mike North over to Jimmy's house to keep an eye on him and make him some dinner and . . . well, if you watched the Sopranos season opener, you know what'll happen next.

I missed this week's show, but heard a few weeks back with Levine and Piersall, and it just sounded so awkward...At least with Murphy it was two guys just being stupid, now it's Levine trying to be serious with Piersall, and it just sounded like Levine couldn't follow him.

Give Doug Buffone and Jimmy a show and see where it goes. It would be an even more senile version of the Bull and the Bear.

Probably something like:

JP: Hey, Uncle Buzzy, or whatever they call you, when do you think Barry Hood, or whatever his name is, will be able to pitch for the Cubs this year?

DB: I don't know, little buddy, let's talk some Bears.

JP: OK, how will their quarterback, Tex Grossinger, or whatever his name is, do next year? Hey, by the way, did I ever tell you I had a .997 career fielding percentage?

DB: Stop yourself, Jimmy! Hey, want to hear some more cute stories about those kids I fathered when I was about 60 years old?

JP: Ahh, who cares? I had 18 kids and I never was there for any of their births because in those days, ballplayers didn't get days off for sissy crap like that.

DB: Don't talk to me about sissy. I played next to Butkus and once saw him bite a guy's schlong off while making a tackle.

JP: Oh, yeah, well, I played with Ted Williams and he told me . . .

Meanwhile, the Listeners: ZZZZZZZZZZZ . . .
