How about this for a "Big Boy NFL G.M." response to his higher ups regarding Singletary-

I can appreciate you wanting to do a favor for Mike but he doesn't really posses any of the qualities I'm looking for in a head coach. It would probably be a waste of time for both of us since he wouldn't be seriously considered.

That way, you send an indirect message to whichever dumbass requested this: Please don't waste my time on this kind of request. And now by agreeing, there's a chance they do it again. Plus by refusing, the "Is Emery really the boss" conversation doesn't take place......again.

This whole Singletary thing screams 1 thing: Meatball. Which makes B and B's defense of it even more amazing since they have made a career of deriding this kind of mindset. But I guess they have found their new "guy" and will defend at all costs.

Listening to Musburger's comments played over and over again today they don't appear all that bad, especially when measured against Imus' "nappy headed hoes" incident, but Dan's getting offended about people getting offended gets my BVDs all in a bundle, even more so considering when you mentioned.

Go look at that thread I posted last week, with a link to Emery's first press conference. He was a blustery, stumbling, dissembling mess, and they rightly treated him as little more than another Jerry Angelo. Then he went into seclusion for about a year, fired Lovie, and gave a rambling speech full of Franklin-Covey buzzwords, and they treated him as a genius. Inasmuch as he was nowhere to be seen nor heard between his introduction and Lovie's firing, the only thing that changed was the Bears re-upping with CBS Radio that included WSCR as having an increased role as a broadcast partner of the Bears. I know it's conspiratorial, but it's all we have.

His introductory press conference, BernSTINE and Mac said he was a "boob" and compared him to Angelo. The punched Emery up pretty good that day and in the following days as well and I fondly remember them putting out some quality sound drops to mock him.

Now, all of a sudden, the man is a genius who shouldn't be questioned and we have entered into the era of BIG BOY FOOTBALL GM'ing.

BernSTINE got some marching orders/stern lecture from Halas Hall and/or Score Head Honcho's and here we are.

For the record, I do like Theo. Dan's man crush on Emery is comparable to the earlier Theo love affair.

Yeah, Emery is just like Angelo, except that Angelo helped construct the Tampa teams of the late 90s and put together an NFC championship winner here, while Phil Emery talent-bankrupted the Kansas City Chiefs. SAME EXACT THING.
