It's a short week anyway with the NCAA games. Send him home with pay, and give corporate HR a week to figure out either what their exposure is if they keep him or if they want to cut budget how to use this to force him out.

Mitch very likely didn't have a choice in the matter. Until then, the show still exists so Marshall has to treat it just like he would if Dan wasn't there due to norivirus.

I'm not sure what the firable offense is. The guy was seemingly using his real name on twitter to attack Dan multiple times. Anyone who knows google can google his name and get information. He said the word "kids" but it didn't reach the level of a threat.

Now, maybe they want to move on but they aren't getting out of his contract because of this. So they can pay him to sit at home but they could have done that anyways.

I don't think there's much wiggle room in deciding whether "want your kids involved?" is threatening, and I'm not going around in circles with you about it. It is clearly foreboding of some implied unwanted or unpleasant result, which is probably some textbook's definition of a "vague threat".

I'll put you down as thinking Dan can vaguely threaten someone's kids on the air and it wouldn't be a fireable offense.

they're arguing over whether Bernstein should be fired, not if Bernstein should be called a scumbag

exactly, and I'm no legal expert (so on the same level of everyone here) but I don't think it's illegal to "doxx" when it's already public information

They're arguing over whether dan threatened his kids. He most certainly did. Whether anything would have come of said threat, I would say I highly doubt it. But if the shoe were on the other foot, i.e. someone said the same exact thing about dan's kids, dan and his board sycophants (you?) would be thundering about "CALLING THE PROPER AUTHORITIES!"
