Yeah, I believe the fatal flaw on this team is the offense. Look at last year, 2 combined runs in 22 innings against the Brewers/Rockies to end the season.
In 2017 only once in 10 playoff games did the Cubs score more than 3 runs. A combined .167 batting average over those 10 games. in 2015 the Mets overpowered the Cub hitters.
Even on this 5 game winning streak, in three of their wins they have pounded mediocre or young pitchers. They struggled against Musgrove and Samardzija in the other two wins.
I saw some stat on ESPN that the Dodgers had some crazy good numbers against high velocity (95+ MPH) pitchers, best in the major leagues. They did not show the Cub numbers but i bet they are in the bottom half.
