I'm saying it will be interesting to look at by the end of the year. That is it.

We've set the bar now. It's 100. I think that is high but now we can wait and see who is "far superior" to Rizzo and Abreu at the end of the year. It will be interesting to see what conclusions it draws.

I usually dont jump in on the "Stone just hates the Cubs" stuff but to write off a 23 year old player against one who has never played in MLB is a little curious.

Then why are you saying he was wrong?

It's impossible to quantify, but I think the person is wrong!

Marginal difference: .011 - .050 OPS
Noticeable difference: .051 - .09599999999 OPS
Vast difference: .0960 - .150 OPS
'Let's not even compare these two' difference (aka the Jackson-Trout difference): .151 and up OPS

Far difference isn't proper English. And these work both ways....so you could say 'superior' or 'inferior' depending on what kind of personality you have.

So...to clarify... Player A would need to have an OPS that is between .096 and .150 higher than Player B to be considered far superior.

If Abreu Bats .230/35/120 and Rizzo bats .296/28/96 this year alone, Abreu is now the far superior player. Just checking

It's obvious, even if they both hit 35-120 Abreu will run a way with it.

I could see Rizzo having Mark Teixera's career.... problem is, I'm not sure which Mark Teixera career he's going to have.

I think Stone was banking on Jose being a consistent 35-40 -120 plus guy for a decade...Rizzo just won't achieve that...but going by your numbers there...Abreu would be around 22% better at the plate.

I still don't think it would be that simple. You'd have to consider how many opportunities each player had regarding RBI.

And simply put...HR is just one way to score runs. I don't know why we are factoring HR in if we are already looking at RBI.

All I'm saying is before "flipping" another solid starter for the never ending "future prospects",someone needs to fall out of love with a "Rizzo". The Cubs can always find a guy to rank 76th in MLB to drive home runs. It doesn't seem like they would have to search too hard for that.
