I mean at this point, why let him out of his misery?

This has gotten so bad that Getz/White Sox have to blame someone...I guess.
Although, putting together the worst team in MLB history (or close to it) would seemingly put Getz in danger of losing his job also, but not for the White Sox.

So is he going to still kick ass at 7:10 if they get rid of him?

I don't like this. Firing him. Make him suffer the worst MLB season ever. Alone. Make it all be on his record. Don't let an interim guy put his name in the record books. That poor bastard doesn't deserve that.

Kamala Harris will be the new Sox manager by next week.

Not sure what the rush is right now. I am calling for LaRussa to be interim, just to get Bernstein's thoughts.

If I thought they had some managerial mastermind coming in, it would be exciting for Grifol to be fired immediately. However, the new hire will end up being some "Jerry's guy" that's already part of the system, so who really cares.

My "Sox Spirit" level has plummeted to the point where I just don't care. Maybe I need James Caan to start singing "Let's Go, Go, Go White Sox" to move the meter...

.250 winning percentage is acceptable, but a 17 game losing streak is a call for a change. Spare me.

They really have to fire him at this point, even if it's just to try and get a dead cat bounce out of the team.

Seriously. It's Aug 2nd. They have 51 games left, and could finish the season on a 51-0 streak. Their reward would be a losing record...

If the management cares at all about its dignity and reputation, the team can't keep racking up double digit losing streak after double digit losing streak. No one will listen to a single word they say about anything.

So they fire Pedro. They go 10-2 in the first 12 games after he is fired. Suddenly their reputation is better?

 Come on, that is silly talk.

This is a lost year no matter what happens at this point.

Why risk losing the #1 pick by firing him?

They should probably do something to try and avoid 121 losses.

Imagine for a moment that you're the general manager of the Chicago White Sox. First, I'm going to ask you to resist the urge to kill yourself or start drinking heavily. Second, I'm going to ask you if 7 and 45 (which at the rate they're going can happen) is the same as 20 and 32? At the end of the year when you're talking to Jerry, you don't see any difference in those scenarios? You wouldn't want to be able to walk into his office and say "we were obviously terrible, but things picked up a bit at the end?"
