Are you going to sit here and tell me that a Deng-less Bulls would have won as many games as a Gordon-less Bulls?
That's a different question. Given the make-up of their roster, losing Deng hurts less because of their depth at forward. But to the point, I'm with Nas - Luol is the best player on their team.
No. Bottom line, push comes to shove, Gordon is the guy that has the greatest impact on this team. In some absolute term, perhaps Deng is better; but on this team, Gordon is the best player.

I'm disappointed with Gordon's development. I expected him to be further along. He still can't create his own shot.
What?! If there's one guy on the Bulls who can create his shot, it's Gordon. He can knock down just about any shot, even with a man in his face (often, a taller man).

Skiles has to run a ridiculous amount of plays through Ben in order for him to get his points. His assist to turnover ratio is borderline embarrassing for a guard that expects to be an all-star. He's still a fucking turnstyle on defense. Worst of all, he has a tendency to pout and quit on plays after he turns the ball over. He's a good young player, but I'm starting to wish more and more that Pax had pulled the trigger on that deal to send Ben & Tim Thomas to Boston for Paul Pierce.
You're doing like I was and expecting too much. I stopped and thought about it around mid-season, and I realized that Gordon was only in his third season, and that he came out early. People are very willing to make that excuse with Deng, but Gordon's only two years older. Take what we know: we know that Gordon has the potential to score large amounts of points in small periods of time. We know that he is, by far and away, the Bulls best shooter. We know that his ball-handling is often erratic, but ever-more frequently he is making passes that help the Bulls. We know that Gordon's workout regimen is outstanding with a single glance. Gordon is a talent. Trust me. The difference between Gordon and Deng is not as great as you think.
