I really feel Ben will want more than Kirk. Now that he is consistently starting and the leading scorer on the team, he'll feel he's worth max money (you can bet his agent will angle for this).

I expect he’ll get slightly more than Kirk, but he’s not a max contract guy. And if he wants to play hardball, Pax will give him the Lance Briggs treatment. He’ll play out next season on his rookie scale salary (approx $4.9 mil) and then Pax will move him to the highest bidder. Meanwhile, Luol Deng will probably be collecting a check for twice that amount.

I love Brewer too, but where are the Bulls going to put him?  Between Deng and Sefalosha, you pretty well have players wherever you'd be playing Brewer.  Though, I think he has an excellent chance of being an all-star.

Trade Gordon. I know it sounds crazy, but you can get a lot for him. Plus, he is going to be wanting a Max deal after next season.

We have a very small backcourt, start Thabo at the 2 next year.

Yeah, but then you're re-building again. The problem is that Gordon is their best scorer, and often-times the reason they win. He's inconsistent, but he's not usually the reason they lose. Brewer will be pretty good right away, I believe, but you're talking 1-2 years before you're back to where you were.

He better start turning out performances better than the one against the Raptors. I hope he's much better tonight.

Deng has been the Bulls best player this year. It's not even close and he will only get better

I think Gordon's been better. It is close though.

Hey Matt, send some of that funk weed my way. I've been out for almost a week.

Not potential, Bucket, not what may be. What is now. Are you going to sit here and tell me that a Deng-less Bulls would have won as many games as a Gordon-less Bulls? If so, hook me up with your guy; mine's OK, but you clearly possess the Dank.

That's a different question. Given the make-up of their roster, losing Deng hurts less because of their depth at forward. But to the point, I'm with Nas - Luol is the best player on their team.

I'm disappointed with Gordon's development. I expected him to be further along. He still can't create his own shot. Skiles has to run a ridiculous amount of plays through Ben in order for him to get his points. His assist to turnover ratio is borderline embarrassing for a guard that expects to be an all-star. He's still a fucking turnstyle on defense. Worst of all, he has a tendency to pout and quit on plays after he turns the ball over. He's a good young player, but I'm starting to wish more and more that Pax had pulled the trigger on that deal to send Ben & Tim Thomas to Boston for Paul Pierce.

No. Bottom line, push comes to shove, Gordon is the guy that has the greatest impact on this team. In some absolute term, perhaps Deng is better; but on this team, Gordon is the best player.

What?! If there's one guy on the Bulls who can create his shot, it's Gordon. He can knock down just about any shot, even with a man in his face (often, a taller man).

You're doing like I was and expecting too much. I stopped and thought about it around mid-season, and I realized that Gordon was only in his third season, and that he came out early. People are very willing to make that excuse with Deng, but Gordon's only two years older. Take what we know: we know that Gordon has the potential to score large amounts of points in small periods of time. We know that he is, by far and away, the Bulls best shooter. We know that his ball-handling is often erratic, but ever-more frequently he is making passes that help the Bulls. We know that Gordon's workout regimen is outstanding with a single glance. Gordon is a talent. Trust me. The difference between Gordon and Deng is not as great as you think.

I say Deng is the better player, but like MITC, I think that the difference in the impact of the two players isn't that big. Luol sort of disappears at the end of games, while Ben is asking for the ball.

I didn't say hit a shot, I said create a shot. Gordon scores the majority of his points by knocking down jumpers coming off of curls. That's not creating a shot. That's Skiles running a play for him. When Gordon tries to make something happen off the dribble, I usually end up throwing something at the TV.

I still disagree. I've seen him dribble the ball around and make a shot too many times to say he can't create a shot. Certainly, I agree that there's many in the NBA in this regard, but not a one is on the Bulls roster. This is yet another area where Gordon is the Bulls best player.

Matt, I think it's time to take Harry's head off that Barney suit and replace it with your own.

In the spirit of the postseason, I'm done ripping on Gordon. Hell, I might even throw a little love towards PJ and J Hood, I mean Sweetney.
