Melo is about three years away from being the classic Bulls FA acquisition. We shop at Marshall's while real teams shop at Barneys.

Reinny has figured out a way to take his money with him when he croaks.

"I'm disappointed that I had to get an offer sheet from another team. But Sacramento stepped up and made a strong impression. It appears that Sacramento wants me more than Chicago," @ZachLaVine to @espn

This is exactly why I wasn't in favor of Lavine being a centerpiece in a Butler trade. He's either gonna leave for nothing or sign a contract that has a high likelihood of becoming an albatross. And the Bulls were so committed to the tank and desperate to limit his minutes that they hardly have enough information to make a good decision one way or the other.

20 per was always the max for him imo. If you can get Parker for that price you do it instead of Lavine. If not resign Lavine. If they believe his best basketball has yet to be played you resign him. 20 per will look extremely cheap in a few years.

It's also the Kings. I'm feeling OK with him leaving.

I think he will be better off here. Curious move by Sac considering they have Hield and the other guy at the 2 already. Lavine would be better with the Bulls given that.

The Bulls have decided to match Sacramento's $78M offer sheet to Zach LaVine, league sources tell ESPN.

Dumb. Only matching because they traded Butler for him.

Watched a clip from the Jump on ESPN where they were talking about Melo and they said the only team right now that has the cap space to take on Melo in a trade with OKC was the Bulls.

They should take him if OKC offers multiple first round picks. Then cut him.

Damn would have liked Bismack Biyambo just for his name.

Biyambo is making $17 million a year and some complain about LaVine’s contract.

Bulls get a non guaranteed contract creating more space to maayybee absorb a large salary and an asset?

4 years too late

I have no doubt that the same people bashing GarPax for signing Lavine would be bashing them if they allowed him to walk.

Not hard to ascertain. The narrative would henceforth become about how we traded Jimmy Butler and allowed the guy considered the best player in the trade to leave.

They couldn't win either way.
