Blackhawks and NHL would not be happy with something like that.

It would be beyond idiotic for Kane to do anything that would extend this even one minute past the time it is official that no charges are being filed.

The last thing Kane wants is for this topic to continue to be discussed. Actually, that's not true. The real last thing he wants is for this girl to be able to make a public record of HER version of what happened that night. If he isn't charged then no one will be able to say he did anything criminal that night. If it goes to civil court and she gets to tell her side of teh story then you'll start to hear people say, well maybe he didn't do enough to get charged in criminal court but he clearly did something based on all the horrible things she is saying.

And you say, oh we'll make her settle out of court. Sorry Beardown, but the real world doesn't work like that. She'll counterclaim him with her own suit and this thing will become a huge mess. Even if it did settle, it wouldn't happen until after a round of depositions and her story getting out there.

And for what? They don't have more money than Kane. They don't have enough money for it to be worth it for him to have his name continue to be dragged through the mud.

The best thing Kane can do is move on from this as quickly as possible and hope the public either forgets all about it or only remembers it as that time some grifter tried to scam Kane out of a bunch of money but failed miserably.

Thought I read something about that not being the case, but not sure.

No, its still possible for there to be sex without DNA, but its highly unlikely. A condom would stop most of the DNA, but there would still be skin cells, hair (unless there's no hair down there).

Also, the fact that she was claiming forcible rape makes it even less likely since forcible raps with condoms and no DNA left behind are virtually impossible.

Unless he wore a lunch lady hair net she would have been covered with his hair too..... i mean look at that hairline during the presser.

Fortunately, almost nobody in our firm, and nobody in our office, believed the accuser. But today, I have some colleagues who take Julie's point of view and would have definitely branded us as guilty. Even though we were the victims. The woman who made up the claims? No recourse against her... except that if she pulls this crap with somebody else, a search will find the ruling from the hearing officer which eviscerates her.

The other night, with the mom and the bag and the whatever.... I really lost it. I was thoroughly depressed, it brought up all of this crap again (the case was dismissed about 7-8 years ago).

I feel like people like Julie owe me a fucking apology for presuming that every man ever accused by a woman is guilty. I'm sorry somebody raped her. I doubt she's sorry about what happened to me.... as it obviously had to be my fault somehow, that I must have given that woman the idea that it was ok to just make shit up. And that goes double for what she thinks about Patrick Kane.

Di Caro would take the same approach as the writer of the Rolling Stone UVa article and justify her actions by saying, although it may not have happened in this case, she is battling a societal problem.

Patrick Kane is a Christ-like figure who must be punished to cleanse the sins of all men.

Isn't that what she's doing with the Kane case and her publicized non-death threats?

I think you guys nailed it.

Julie views Kane as the guy that raped her. So that's why she's on the attack. It's actually understandable. She should be biased as a rape victim. You would expect that. But it's also why she has no credibility.

I don't believe she was ever raped. Heck, I don't even believe she was ever in Cancun (where she says it happened). She's lost all credibility as a human being in my eyes.

What makes her incapable of traveling to Cancun? I see no reason not to believe her. We owe her at least that much.

My only knowledge of her existence is her reporting on this case. Based on that I'm not convinced she isn't a pathological liar. Therefore, I don't owe her anything at all when it comes to accepting the veracity of anything that comes out of her mouth.

She's a professional victim.

I think it's a bit of a leap to go from "got emotionally invested in a story and became the story" to "is a lifelong pathological liar."

...I was unaware her alleged rape was in Cancun...

I could have sworn she said she reported it months? or years later?

To who?

I mean Cancun is a little cleaner and civilized than some other parts of mexico, but reporting a rape, even right after it happened down there, during break, guessing might not be the top issue they have.....yet alone, calling them even the next week and reporting it?

....and while I continue to say it shouldnt happen....no means no....blah blah....you are telling me you left a bar druk with a guy in Cancun...?? Come On Man!!!

Maybe so, but its still a smaller leap of logic than many of the leaps she has made regarding Kane.

Do you disagree with my characterization of her has a professional victim? Her latest tweets are about how the reason she is getting blasted by the public is because she's a woman reporting on sports. Before that we had the tweets about threats that didn't exist and her staying home from work because of said non threats.

Anchor. Lawyer. Rape victim. Of the above her credibility is thin when the first two are either a false claim or an extremely small legacy. Call attention to the problem by exploiting the perception of someone who may or may not be totally uninvolved? She does updates twice an hour and she gets to blog for CBS. Is there a senior anchor title? Correspondent? Poseur? As a lawyer I don't know her true performance (although sources say she wasn't strong) but I'll give credit to the attorney who had to step down. He put his name out there and then did the right thing.

So her true credential may be that of victim. A position which apparently clouds her judgments and actions. Not what a professional should allow.

Not related to topic but...Check out Hyatt Ziva in cancun on Google maps...you will see they have their own mini beach, that connects to the ocean and every night , high tide fills it wth some new PhEEsh....my room was right on this man made pool/beach. Came home at 4 AM, multiple tacos in hand with my new lady friend. We sat on the balcony smoking something, drinking and eating...then see the fin or a little shark..3 ft....started feeding it taco meat all night! Then the senorita raped me, it was awesome!

Story 2....

(deleted for the safety of those involved)
